About Lighthouse Country Club
Located in the Texas Hill Country just off of Lake LBJ, Lighthouse Country Club in Kingsland is an 18-hole golf course with several vacation homes to rent out. These 2-bedroom/2-bathroom 1,300-square-foot units are steps from the clubhouse, which features dining and overlooks the scenic golf course. In addition to these homes, Lighthouse also has an RV park with laundry, picnic area and showers. Lighthouse (formerly Packsaddle Country Club, named after nearby Packsaddle Mountain) is an affordable stay-and-play option. The semi-private golf course, originally opened in 1968 but renovated in 2006 and purchased in 2011, has made the Golfers' Choice Top 25 golf courses in Texas in multiple years and Golfers' Choice best value in the country list.Facts

Simply The Best Value
We've played this course numerous times and have never been disappointed. The greens are firm and fast. Pick the right line and it will roll true. The fairways are always tight which I love, course plays fast and fair. Will be back soon!

Hidden Gem
I always enjoy a round of golf at Lighthouse. The members are friendly, staff is friendly and is a quiet place to play. Rick the owner is always accomodating to make sure if you are a single to either pair you up or send you off asap so you can not be hindered by 4 some play. Have the best pro in texas as far as I am concerned Scott Bridges. Knows how to help your game almost immendiately for advance players or newbies. I suggest you check this place out, some of the best greens I have ever played.

I played this course 20 years ago and was looking forward to play when I saw the rating had improved so much
Pros:
Greens and Fairways were in good shape, greens were Very Fast
Cons:
Golf cart trails in bad shape
Sand traps didn't need and didn't have rakes, very little sand
White and Blue tee box markers at same position
Map of course on score card cost me at least 3 strokes

Could eventually be an all round excellent golf course the green are as good as any you will fine at other higher priced courses in the area. .
Since the new owner arrived good improvements have been made. The greens are as good or better than any in the area courses. In July they took possession of all new carts. This was for sure a necessary need. One thing that would make Lighthouse Golf Course even a better value and experience is to repair/replace the cart paths. Due to cost this is probably not at the top of the to do list at this time. The owner is an individual not a We need to cut him a little slack. This is not owned or managed by large corporation or management company.

Great value, pace of play, friendly staff and very good conditions make this a regular track and worth the pleasant hike from Austin.

A Excellent Hill County Golf Course
This Course is by far our favorite Golf Course! We make the 60 drive out to Kingsland from South Austin as often as we can. The course is ALWAYS in excellent conditions!! The pace of play is great, and everyone out there has that "friendly Hill County" disposition. We highly recommend this treasure of the Hill County!!

Great Hill Country Track
First time playing this Hill Country treat. Very much enjoyed the course. Lots of great holes and great scenery. There’s one or 3 that felt like it was sort of forced and a few other blind holes that made it tricky for a first timer. Now that I’ve gone through it I’ll definitely be back!

Awesome!!! Tee boxes and fairways and greens were perfect. The greens were hard so it takes very little speed to make the ball roll like crazy. So greens are fast and the most challenging part of the course.

Blind golf .
Very narrow golf course and so much rough area and so many houses are very close to fairways without protection.
We drove over an hour to play and it was not worth it.

Hidden Hill Country Gem
Just a short drive from Horse Shoe Bay and far less expensive, but definitely worth it.
Challenging course, several blind shots, very challenging greens, considerable slope to greens. Unusual terrain (granite outcroppings on a couple holes, water on several holes. Some really good par 3 holes that were challenging.
Course is in fantastic condition. Entire course was exceptional. 18th hole green was quite sloped which made for a tough final hole. All staff was very friendly and courteous, including the mowing crews. Played on a trip. Wished I lived closer. Awesome round, and very clean carts. You won’t be disappointed!
