Greens are destroyed
I went last week for a quick 18. I’ve probably never seen the Greens on any golf course this bad. Course honestly needs to be shut down and redone. Definitely not worth it!
Course Management
Prior to the round understood greens had damage from the freeze. Surprised by lack of care in other areas. Played course prior to new management and it was better maintained
While the golf course is still open for play, we are aware that current conditions are not ideal and this is due to a variety of reasons, including our mid-February historically low temperatures. What we are experiencing is not an isolated situation, and many golf courses throughout Texas are seeing the same challenges in recovering their course conditions.
The resort has an aggressive fertilization and maintenance plan in place to assist in restoring the golf course, in particular the greens, to a much better playing condition. We are optimistic that once temperatures reach a consistent low of 70 degrees, our efforts will take root and our course will once again become an ideal place to play and provide the perfect Margaritaville golf experience that you truly deserve.
Our team appreciates your patience during this time, and looks forward to seeing you here often in the future... and to sunnier days ahead!

The course was in no condition to play do to a storm the day before
We couldn’t play no more than 11 holes because of the conditions. We lost a lot of balls because of the branches and leaves in the fairway

Greens
The rest of the course was in fine shape the but the greens were HORRENDOUS.

Texas freeze ruined greens
Very spotty greens - roughly half were destroyed by freeze in February 2021. Many bunkers poorly maintained. Paid $4.53 for a 12 oz can of Diet Coke at the end - tremendous mark up. On the plus side, fairways were superb.

Margaritaville has seen better days
Course needs some TLC but any day on the course is better than no day. Overcast and cool, we had fun despite weedy fairways and thin greens.
Nice layout but infrastructure is poor
Pluses: Fairways, Tee Boxes and layout are very good. Greens and cart paths are TERRIBLE. Not sure what the problem is with the greens but there were only maybe 3 that were what you would call "good". The rest are sand/dead or dying grass/dirt. Some are almost all dirt. Can't chip to them, can't get a straight putt - just bad. I had heard a lot of good things about the course but other than "looking pretty" there's nothing there I would want to go back for.

Meh.
Good layout and in general liked the course. Fairways seemed well cared for. The greens and bunkers on the holes near the clubhouse were good, but the other 14 or so reminded me of a muni course... but not a great one. Large bare spots on many of the greens and if you hit in the bunker you better just kick out since they’re unplayable. It did rain hard last weekend but the bunkers look like they haven’t been tended to in some time. Considering the ones near the clubhouse looked way better I’d say it’s an issue of the others being neglected. Also not once was I offered a pina colada. Would play again on a hot deal but no chance at full price.

Greens
I know alot of courses are recovering from the results of the freeze. Here is no difference. Most greens are in pretty bad shape. Which is ok if you would let the public know ahead of time. Hate to pay full price for a course with 90% of its greens mostly sand

Greens are Worse I have ever seen
To start let me say that I love the course layout. I have now played this course 3 times over the past 2 months. The Greens are terrible. The worse I have ever seen. They seem to be getting worse as the weather gets warmer. I love the location and will play here again. But for now the greens are just unputtable. It is a good place to practice your game and then just take 2 putts and move to the next hole

Greens are Trash
Title says it all. Greens are trash, most don’t even have grass growing on. Multiple holes have no grass at all.
