Great course for the money!
This course is in exceptional shape considering you can frequently get a weekend tee time for around $40. Well worth the drive!
This course is in great condition
For an open to the public course the fairways are in fantastic shape and the greens roll nicely. Well worth the money to play this course.
Course in great shape
Course was in great shape and pace was good, this is always a nice course for me and my wife to play. The staff is very helpful and go out of their way.
It's a steal if you're willing to drive
Got a Saturday afternoon tee time here for ridiculously cheap, and drove to la torretta with low expectations. I was pleasantly surprised from the moment I arrived. Course was in phenomenal shape, and aside from a high school tourney that had just finished when I showed up, the course was empty. Tight, tree lined fairways, water all around and tough bunkers make for a tough challenge. However, if your drive is in the fairway, this is a course you can score on. I really enjoyed it.
My only complaint is the drive which, obviously, there isnt anything they can do to fix. Well over an hour from the heart of Houston. Quite a trek. Although getting way outside the city allows you to find great courses like this.
Highly recommended
nice course.
this course has a little bit of everything. open fairways, sloping tree lined holes, water trouble, up hill, downhill, you name it. i really liked it. i will play again for sure. Holes that stood out for me were the 3rd, plenty of trouble. 14th, need a nice long drive, or you will be laying up, on a par 4!
Greens were in good condition
only Con: driving range is rather small, but i guess that should help you tune in you shots.
an ok resort type course
Played on a cold day in February. The course is a typical resort type course, tree lined fairways (mostly) with a bit of water. OK if you like this sort of course but having played it I would struggle to remember any particular hole. Having said that there wasn't anything to say that would put you off.
Very wet
Very wet conditions sparse grass in areas but I liked the layout of the course . I would play it again later in the golf season.
nice course
Very nice course to play at, staff was very friendly
Much improved
The course is in good condition considering its recent history.
Tough fair traditional
Cold winter day so whizzed around in 3 hours .great conditions for February and hot a great rate .had a "discussion "with a homeowner who didn't want me to play from his yard which was continuous with the tough although I was clearly in bounds .
Very Good Course
The condition of the course is excellent. One of the better kept courses in the Houston/Conroe area. I consider playing at LaTorretta a "treat" and look forward to playing there. Keep up the good maintenance work. The golf course shows that the grounds crew are doing an excellent job and management is supporting them with the necessary funds.
Fun course!
Good value for the condition. Greens were a little fluffy but receptive. Some very fun driving holes. Will recommend and return!
Winter
Very nice course all things considered. Fairway grass was dead, but greens and tee boxes were in great shape. We are staying here for a wedding in June and we wanted to play the course once beforehand......Very excited that we will be back in a few months and get to play it when the grass will be green. Should be another great time.
Excellent value
Course was in great shape for this time of year, Rough was a little sparse but fairways were in great shape and greens rolled true.
Tough course
I'm a boggie to par player. But after 36 holes I had no pars. Difficult course. To many leaves on course it self.
Nice course!
It was my first time to play the course and I was favorably impressed. I will be playing more rounds at this course.
a nice comfortable course
it is a very good course for the average golfer. Has pines throughout but not heavy on the brambles and bushes. Enjoyed the outing.
Fun Day
I played the course with 3 friends . Friendly staff said we could start any time we wanted since they were not busy. Greens and fairways were in great shape. I wish this course was a little closer to my home because I definitely would play it again.
koudos to grounds staff
Very nicely kept. Lost many balls related to dropped leaves (blame mother nature). Great course for the novice like myself. Many water features but not intimidating. Will definately return.
La Torretta Lake Resort and Spa
The day we went to play as also that of the local Triathlon so had to play the front nine twice.
The locals had stayed away so it was very quiet on the course. The course is in great condition even coming into the autumn. I played the middle tee which adds some distance to most holes. It’s a challenging course and you have to play for position.
The greens rolled well but some of the flag positions made it interesting. The tee boxes and the bunkers were in great shape something I find many courses neglect. The ball would settle down in the short but challenging ruff.
Going back to play the full 18 today although it’s an hour’s drive we enjoyed it that much.
