Moody Gardens

I recently moved to the Island and took up golf after a long hiatus. I have been playing at Moody’s recently and have been impressed with the facility and staff. Nice practice area and the course is challenging. The playing condition of the course has been consistently outstanding. The wind is in play!

Great day at Moody Gardens. Course was in excellent condition. slight wind on front nine but moderate wind on the back made the back nine tough. No sand traps on the front but due to the wind hit seven traps on the back nine - made one "sandie"! Third time this year and the best course I have played in my 32 rounds this year!!!

Always a good experience at MG! The greens roll true, but wish they were more receptive to wedge play.

Well the wind was blowing briskly as usual. Makes club selection rather tricky. But this is one of the reasons I play this course. It is always in great shape.

Overall good course but expensive. Ok layout, back 9 was excellent. Will go again but only with discount.

Can’t say nothing bad about this course. I just wish the men and women can use golf ethics. Meaning fix divots on greens and the fairways. Overall a 10!

Nice course. Happened to play it on a VERY windy day according to the staff. Always windy, but this was abnormally strong is what I was told. Lots of water in play made this challenging. I am a 10 hdcp and stopped scoring to allow myself to enjoy this neat course. Into the wind, I flushed a club I hit at home 165yds and was pin high at 117yds. With the wind helping, I hit a solid 175yd club 240. Never played in any conditions like that, it was really enjoyable if you don't allow yourself to get frustrated - and bring cheap golfballs you don't care about losing.

The course was in great shape from tee to green. Great practice facility; overall great exprience going back tomorrow and saturday.

This was definitely an upgrade to the last time I played here several years ago. Staff was friendly and as a single, groups were very willing to let me play through. Greens were in good shape and fairways were wide and manicured. Just the right amount of challenge for most golfers.I would be happy to play at the Moody Gardens course again!

Course is in great shape. Found a good deal on a Saturday and really enjoyed the round. We played in 4 hrs and 15 minutes after being the 6th group off that morning. We played the first 5 holes in an hour and then took us 3+ hours to play the remaining holes. There was a 4 some that after #8 was a hole behind and after #13 were almost two holes behind. The Marshall drove up to the slow group a couple times on the back nine, waived and continued on his way. We were all backed up behind the slower group. It's a recipe for 5+ hr rounds later in the day if an early group backs everyone up. I'll be back to play this course. I always enjoy my round here. I just might not play on a Saturday.

Beautiful course. Conditions from tee to green were excellent. Challenging back nine holes when playing against the wind. Electric golf carts- so nice and quiet but no GPS on carts- which would have been nice. Super nice staff. Obtained tee time through Golf Now the night before and saved some green.

Good course for the money. Greens will be faster in a few weeks but good now

Course was in great condition with greens rolling true and fast. The pro shop staff was very friendly. Looking forward to getting back on the island soon!

Challenging course for the average duffer. Wind is always a factor in Galveston so must be prepared for that. Slightly more expensive than most public courses along the Houston / gulf coast area.

MG is a well laid out course that uses the natural landscape to capture your eye and challenge anyone’s game. Depending on wind direction, MG can be a bear or can be had! Select your day carefully.

Weather was great, course was in good shape and We had a great time.
