Moody Gardens Golf Course

Nice layout and they’re doing a good job maintaining conditions lately……even the bunkers are playable!!!

Played here in the past and loved it. However this weekend the pace was so slow it took almost four hours for 9 holes. When we got to the back nine there were about 10 carts backed up. Played a couple more holes on the front nine again and then just gave up and went home. Was very disappointed and felt like I wasted some $$.

Always love playing Moody. Hadn't been recently but wasn't surprised by the great conditions and staff.

Was surprised at how nice the course was. In great shape and a fun course to play.

Several of the previous reviews said the place wasn't in great shape and the people were grumpy. We found the opposite and am glad we didn't run into John the grumpy one. If in the area I will play it again!

Played with a gentleman that was 81. Pipes it down the middle all day. He was a little slow but we didn’t mind. We were waiting at every tee box. For the group ahead of us. It was packed. We kept up with the group in front of us. However the group behind us hit into us a couple of times an and chirped the older gentleman a few times. Glad he couldn’t hear them. Please relax men. Enjoy the company you are with and the coarse. You are not cool for belittling an older man. You are a douche Rant over

Personally, I like golf courses with lakes. There's the ocean, the view is beautiful, and most of all, the well-maintained grass is great. The challenging courses are the best because they offer a sense of challenge.

Wasn't crowded at all but pace was slow. Need to do bbetter job marshaling the course.

Course is always in great condition. For me, worth the drive. Only negative was we only saw cart girl one time on a hot , muggy day. Wasn’t til hole 15. But that was a first, usually see her 2-3 times a round. Courses near where I live all have issues with their greens, never a problem here at Moody. Pace of play was great as well.

Greens had been punched sometime ago and were not completely healed. Greens were very slow and shaggy. We got rained out after nine holes and due to the course going to cpo after the rain, we left.

Would play again, fairways were good, bunkers were ok too.

Great experience. First time to play this course. I will return.

Beginner golfer here and staff was friendly and helpful.

Don't play this course if they've aerated the greens within a few weeks. They won't give a discount and the greens are covered in sand so you can't put with any kind of consistency.

Course is nice overall but really poor communication about this issue.

The course is in decent shape. They should encourage players to fix ball marks and fill divots! They should also hire beverage cart help…..if they need to charge higher fees to offer on-course amenities, so be it…..it’s the only public option in Galveston…..people will pay it!!!

We played the front 9 today and had a great experience. The staff were welcoming and friendly right from check-in. The greens were being aerated, but that was clearly disclosed ahead of time and didn’t take away from the round. Aside from the greens work, the course was in excellent shape — fairways well maintained, bunkers groomed, and everything looking sharp. This is easily one of the nicest municipal courses I’ve played, and I look forward to coming back for the full 18 soon
