About
The Carlton Gipson-redesigned Moody Gardens Golf Course is one of the most difficult tracks in Texas, universally considered one of the top five municipals in the state. The Gulf winds pound the course and water comes into play on every hole. Even from the regular tees, the route rolls 6,816 yards, so short knockers are truly at a disadvantage.
Getting there : From I-45 south, exit 61st St. and turn right. Find Stewart and turn right, then turn right again on 99th Street. Drive to Sydnor Ln. and turn right-you'll see the entrance on the right side of the road.

Course is challenging and green were excellent. Bad mosquitoes bring your bug juice.
Great coarse condition better than most this time of year.
During the short winter season we had this year I feel like this coarse took the cold weather the best. Fairways and greens are in good shape
Good course Great Greens
Besides the fact that I 3 putted almost every hole. It was great
Fun course
The course was in great condition and the pace of play was awesome. The design is great. The wind definitely comes into play. We had fun playing.
Perfect greens
Greens are in great shape. Course is well maintained. With the warm weather, a great place to play and then hangout in Galveston.
Great Course!
I’ve always enjoyed playing here. Today was no exception. Course was in great shape! Greens held good shots, rolled fast but true.
Staff and marshals were very friendly and helpful.
Only 4 stars for course layout but that’s only because several of the holes don’t fit my eye.
I will definitely keep an eye out for more good deals here.

The marshal was rude and disrespectful never have been treated this way on any golf course I have played we were not playing slow
Nice public track
Nice layout and they’re doing a good job maintaining conditions lately……even the bunkers are playable!!!
Pace was almost 4 hours for 9 holes
Played here in the past and loved it. However this weekend the pace was so slow it took almost four hours for 9 holes. When we got to the back nine there were about 10 carts backed up. Played a couple more holes on the front nine again and then just gave up and went home. Was very disappointed and felt like I wasted some $$.
Coastal Golf
Always love playing Moody. Hadn't been recently but wasn't surprised by the great conditions and staff.
Greens and Fairways in great shape
Was surprised at how nice the course was. In great shape and a fun course to play.
Nicer than the reviews!!!
Several of the previous reviews said the place wasn't in great shape and the people were grumpy. We found the opposite and am glad we didn't run into John the grumpy one. If in the area I will play it again!
Respect for older golfers
Played with a gentleman that was 81. Pipes it down the middle all day. He was a little slow but we didn’t mind. We were waiting at every tee box. For the group ahead of us. It was packed. We kept up with the group in front of us. However the group behind us hit into us a couple of times an and chirped the older gentleman a few times. Glad he couldn’t hear them. Please relax men. Enjoy the company you are with and the coarse. You are not cool for belittling an older man. You are a douche Rant over
Best golf course
Personally, I like golf courses with lakes. There's the ocean, the view is beautiful, and most of all, the well-maintained grass is great. The challenging courses are the best because they offer a sense of challenge.
