Pine Dunes Resort & Golf Club

About Pine Dunes Resort & Golf Club
Pine Dunes Resort & Golf Club is located in Frankston, about a 40-minute drive south of Tyler in East Texas. The Jay and Carter Morrish design opened in 2001, and it has become known as one of the better "hidden gem" golf getaways in the south, featuring a secluded sandy and forested setting. Accommodations here are onside two-bedroom condos designed for golf groups. They come with full kitchens and sleep up to four apiece with one, full-size bed in one room, and two full-sized beds in the second bedroom. Living areas have futons that fold out into a fourth full-size bed. Pine Dunes also recently expanded their offerings with six double and six single guest rooms. Other amenities onsite include a bar, grill and full-length driving range.Facts

I Recommend This Course
One the Lone Star State's best public courses
Ranked among the best public courses in Texas,, Pine Dunes Resort is all golf, nothing else. If you're looking for a posh resort, this isn't it, but if you wanted to challenge your game, Pine Dunes will give you as much as you can handle. Many say it reminds them of Pinehurst . The Pines, the sandy knobs, waste areas and difficulty of the course certainly exude Pinehurst. The greens do not, though they can be perplexing. Most of all, you have to drive it straight to survive and the approaches are no picnic either.
