Sonesta Bee Cave
About Sonesta Bee Cave
The Sonesta Bee Cave is located 20 minutes west off Austin off Highway 71 in the Hill Country Galleria, home to a collection of shops, bars and restaurants. There is no golf course onsite but there is shuttle service to the nearby Lakeway golf courses, including public Falconhead Golf Club, and the hotel does have some limited access to the private courses at the Clubs of Lakeway. The Sonesta Bee Cave features a large, outdoor courtyard pool, 10,000 square feet of meeting space and a 5,300 square foot ballroom. Lake Travis is minutes away where a marina can be accessed, and world-famous Hamilton Pool is also a short drive away. A highlight of the Sonesta Bee Cave is not only the galleria shops and restaurants but the hotel's own rooftop Meridian 98, which features cocktails and specialty plates in a lively setting that hosts live music.Facts

Thank you for the feedback and review! Come back and tee off at Falconhead again soon.
Slow Play
A fivesome was in from of us on the front nine so it was slow. On the back nine, another player joined that group so they played 6 players in a group. No marshal out there on a friday afternoon.......
It took us 5 hrs and 20 min to play - ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!!!
Great course but FAST greens
We played with a couple locals and they had never seen the greens so fast, hard to stick and MANY three putts. Other than that, the course was in good shape and a lot of fun. Friendly staff and players
Above and beyond
Could not have been better
Wothevery penny and I will be back
Thank you Ronald for the wonderful review. We are pleased to hear you had a great time with your recent visit at Falconhead. Come back and tee off with us again soon.
Picturesque & Challenging
Late summer and the course was in fantastic shape all around. We'd actually had lots of rain in the weeks prior, but it had drained really well and was definitely ready to play. There's just such nice scenery on some holes; very picturesque with the rolling hill country in the background.
I will say that some 4-par holes really could be 4-1/2. They just require a longer tee shot (in the fairway) followed by another long shot which is usually to an elevated green; this adds to the level of difficulty. The Bermuda rough (esp around the greens) was deep on this day. It was well maintained but made it especially challenging to locate balls. It was also (obviously) hard to hit out of and really raised the bar on the level of difficulty while also increasing the shots on our respective scorecards.
Thank you Gordon for the wonderful review! We are pleased to hear you had a great time with us from your recent visit. Hope you can tee off with Falconhead again this spring.
Challenging and fun layout
Nice course with a good layout. Pretty wide open with the exception of a few challenging holes. Super slick "winter" greens that we're not respected by a large number of players who refuse to fix their ballmarks. Typical for a course open to the public and no fault of the staff. The 15 - 20 mph winds brought a whole different degree of difficulty but for the most part a fun course. We look forward to playing here again. One stupid mistake I made was using my PW backwards as to address my ball lefthanded because of an unfortunate lie and as a result nicked the rear of the club due to some hidden rocks. And we were only playing for drinks, idiot. So be aware of rocks.
Thanks for the great review. We are pleased to hear you and your group had a fun time from your recent visit with us. Hope you can join us again in 2017!
Falconhead Golf Club
Nice course and layout. I would have like to see the greens in a little better condition though they rolled true.
Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent visit at Falconhead. We hope to see you hit the greens with us again soon!
Wish it was worth the money
It's a nice course but not worth $89. If u hit out of fairway u get punished. Definitely do not play on Sunday. The pace of play was not fun. I do not like waiting on every whole especially for $89. They had great marshals managing the course but the pace was still awful for the money!
Great Course, Fair challenge
I really enjoyed my round here. It was a nice layout and the right level of challenge. It was also a scenic course with a lot to look at. The hanging green on #8 is a one of a kind. There was a lot of elevation change so pick the right clubs particularly on the back 9 which I thought was more challenging than the front. Staff was great and the whole experience was well worth it. I would definitely come back and try to beat my score.
Thank you for your four star review! We are pleased to hear you had a great experience at Falconhead. Come back and visit us again soon!
Good day
The course was in great shape for August. There are a few holes that have a great view.
The greens were a little slow compared to the practice green, but overall...there were no complaints. It is pretty challenging playing from the tips. You are required to hit the ball straight. I hope to be out again soon. Thx.
Thank you for your five star review! We hope to see you hit the greens at Falconhead in the near future!
Hit some balls
Great course! Make sure you are tuned in before starting, first 5 holes are pretty unforgiving. I would recommend calling course to verify tee time. I tried to book a few weeks back and was seeing 2 tee times at the same time. I called the course before booking and they had a tournament starting at that time. Pro shop guy was not a big fan of golfnow.
Good condition, I like this course, greens are perfect
I play this Course one year a go and they make some changes, good manteinence, and great Course
Thank you so much for the five star review! We hope to see you at the course again very soon!
Just rained course was wet.
Cart path only, course was soggy, would like to play under drier conditions.
Thanks Burtonm for the review! We hope you can tee off at Falconhead this spring or summer!
Awesome Hill Country Experience
I played 9 holes in the Wednesday evening golf league and had a blast! This was my first time playing Falconhead and I was impressed with the service and the course. Rex in the golf shop took great care of us. Falconhead's Signature Hole (#8) did not disappoint. The green is built on a limestone ledge, and the hole also has three waterfalls and two ponds.
Course in great condition for August
Good course with some challenging holes. Definitely a step up from the cheaper public courses in Austin
Great course, challenging but fair
This is one of my favorite golf courses in the Austin area, lots of things to do before or after the round. The staff is very friendly, and they have done a great job with green and bunker maintenance.
Hot Deal at Falconhead
first time ever on this track, picked up the tee time on the hot deals, would have gladly spent 20 dollars more now that I've played here.
greens had been aerated about three weeks prior but still putted well, fairways were in terrific shape considering lack of rain, overall a great track that I will come play again.
Thank you for the five star review! Come back and tee off at Falconhead again this season!
