Spring golf
I play this course a few times a year and it needs a small amount of work to the ruffs and traps
Good Hot Deal but Lacking Care
The course was well designed but the bunkers and fairways were not well kept. Rough was a little too long at times but distance was nice relaxing.
Perfect Day to Golf In April
Overall the course has an interesting layout you must be good at iron play. Quite a few a shots even off the tee you need to play iron shots. If you are looking to use your driver a lot this isn't the course. It was early in the year and maintenance on the course hadn't started yet. The greens were slow because they hadn't been mowed yet. Looking forward to playing this sometime this summer again.
November Golf in Wisconsin!
Season ending round with temperature in the 70s. Conditions were great. Leaves blown off fairways and greens. Grass has grown back in the aeration plugs. Will play here again when the course reopens in April.
Great golf
Very nice great staff food and drinks high price but all in all nice place
Challenging course
Although the course was only 6,100 from the back tees, expect to be challenged throughout. Fairways and greens in very good condition. Several of the greens are dime sized and/or sloped which further explains the need for concentration.
A very fun course in Wisconsin Dells Area
Coldwater Canyon (Chula Vista) is a tale of two nines and both are as much fun as they are different. The front nine is short and tight as it winds through the canyon with lots of very specific types of shots required to score well. The course is always maintained well and the greens, while fairly small have lots of tricky, almost invisible breaks and slope. Pay special attention to the par 3 holes on the front nine, they can be tricky. Be straight off the tee on the par 4’s and 5’s of you’ll be losing balls in the thick trees and deep canyons.
The back nine is more links style and much more open to slightly off-line shots. But don’t relax too much, the thick native grass areas and water hazards are well placed to challenge your club selection. I really enjoy playing this course and have been for years.
