Senior trip
My parents have visited lake lawn since the 1960’s. I am fortunate enough to take my boys here for their senior trip from high school. They played on high school golf team at home in Arkansas. Great course and a wonderful time at Magestic and Lake Lawn lodge. Will be back again
Picturesque setting
Well maintained course, with beautiful lake views. Challenging sandtraps with fairly forgiving fairways. Would have appreciated more (not sure they had any?) water coolers throughout course. Had sprinkler system going near on green affecting my shot. Overall enjoyable round and friendly staff.
Majestic Oaks
Overall, very decent, but need a ranger out there for pace of play.
We played as a twosome and breezed through the course in 3 hours and 15 minutes - nobody in front of us and nobody behind us. It was a perfect weather day. The staff was very courteous, friendly and helpful. I left my 8-iron on the course and it was saved for me in the club house. Great experience, thanks.
Great Fun. Great staff.
The family of Bald Eagles on the 18th hole is awesome.
Great ahape
Greens were in great shape. Could be a little bit ticker though.
Fun with a view
Short course but in good shape. The greens have different levels and difficult slopes, not just front to back or side to side. Friendly staff and good food at the turn, I'll definitely be back again.
Old School Great Experience
What a wonderful resort course without the resort pretentiousness. Fabulous friendly staff welcome you to a shorter but not unchallenging course. Keep it in play and you can score. Lose your way and the numbers can pile up. It was a fun challenge for me as a 12 handicap but not too much for my novice golfer wife. Well worth another stay and play trip!!
Somewhat Challenging
Very nice course, in good shape and challenging. As the name implies, there are a lot of trees so you really need to stay in the fairway.
Not Lake Geneva, but good
I've been regularly playing this course for around 10 years. Back then it needed a lot of work. Today the course is in great shape with one exception: the bunkers need more sand. There are a lot of bunkers on this course and many are very thin down to the hardpan.
You get a beautiful view of Delavan Lake from the 2nd green as well as hole 12 which runs along the shoreline, and there are nesting bald eagles in a large pine along the 18th fairway.
Recent improvements were made to the clubhouse (adding more tap beers and food options).
The course is not nearly as nice as Lake Geneva courses and I wouldn't recommend paying full price here on a weekend but weekday and member rates are very reasonable. Beware, however, as it's not uncommon to see groups of 5,6,or7+ players together as there is rarely a ranger on duty.
One last comment: there needs to be taller fencing or netting along holes 6 & 7 as a bad hook/pull can easily end up across a busy highway.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review. We would love to know how we can earn those last two stars next time! Thanks for playing Majestic Oaks at Lake Lawn Resort.
