fun course, poor putting surface
greens were punched so quality of putting was poor
Good Links Course
The resort has a total of 54 holes, 18 of which is the "National", or links course. I live close and have played all courses a number of times over the years, although infrequently. The National is generally considered the most difficult 18, although the fairways are relatively wide and the course is generally easy to navigate. The greens were recently aerated, so putting was spotty. I had no intention of playing this day, but spotted this deal on Golf Now. At 65% off, it was cheaper per hole than the local putt-putt. How can you say no to that?
Nicely laid-out course
Played this course with my teenage son. I really enjoyed playing it. It was well-maintained and I thought walked a good line between being challenging and fair. There's a fair amount of sand and water and plenty of heather (left a few of my shots in the heather) - but the fairways are wide and greens are large, so if you can keep the ball in play, you can score well.
they are in the process of re landscaping the blue course, but we were still able to play all nine holes as usual
I have golfed both the Fox Creek course and the National course at Fox Hills and have enjoyed them both. Is a little pricey without the discounts but still a great course to golf. Would like to see more golf courses in our area on Golf Now Examples Autumn Ridge, Wander Springs, Hilly Haven, Mid Vallie.
Great links layout in great condition
We got out on The National at about 11 AM after watching most of Round 3 of the Open Championship this past Saturday. Windy conditions made it fun and challenging to play this beautiful course!
We hardly saw anyone else out on the course, and when we finished in about 3½ hours, the pro told us we could just head out again if we wanted to!
This course basically made my trip out to WI (visiting a friend that had recently moved there). I'd give it more than 5 stars if I could - perfect golf day that I didn't want to end!
Good course for all golfers! Easy walking.
Played this course 5 times in the last 3 years, always in decent shape. Nice mixture of holes. Pro shop called shortly after booking and advised no carts because of overnight rain, nice gesture. Course was still in great shape
WELL MAINTAINED!!!!
The staff was awesome. I liked their putting and chipping area but the driving range was disappointing. I thought the course played challenging from the black tees. The National course is fun and great shape..
The course will challenge every player
This course is one that will challenge any style golfer. It isn't horribly long from the whites, but if you would like to play longer irons, tee off from the black.
The course itself is laid out pretty plainly. No real huge doglegs or blind shots. The water is in play and placed in very challenging places. Par 5's are reachable in two for an accurate 3 wood striker, but to the rest of mankind not too straight off of fairway, playing a par 5 in regulation is best.
The par 4's are 380 - 430 yards off the white tee. Pretty straight. Any slice or hook will most likely find the mounds lining the fairways in the summer these mounds will be longer grass and very difficult to play from.
Overall the course is a challenge to all players of all types.
Course in great shape
I have golfed there several times over the years and have always enjoyed course. I like fast greens, so I wish they could speed them up a little bit. Overall for price paid great bang for your buck course thru Golf Now
Nicely laid out course
I have played the course several times and continue to enjoy playing it. It has some very interesting holes. Nice link style course.
Nice course and fun layout.
We enjoyed the openness of the fairways and excellent landing areas for tee shots. Usually friendly staff, but they were busy and didn't have enought people in the club houses. Well kept course.
Links style, lots of tall grass.
Played there before, good condition. Course has a good mix of water, sand, and tall grass. Not very difficult good for all skill levels. Holes #9 and 18 are very nice.
A very interesting course to play
I play the National course every year. It is usually in very nice shape. Sometimes the ducks can be a little annoying. The staff is very friendly. All in all a very nice golf resort
A real value!
I play the National at least a couple times every summer. It was built many years ago as the upscale course in the area. I believe they had Bob Hope at their inaugural. Since then it's been challenged with the Kohler courses and many others but the good news is that the competition keeps their rates very low. The National is a links style course with mounds on each side of the fairway. Hit it straight or expect an awkward stance. They have several signature holes such as a near island par 3. The folks at The National are great hosts and deserve the business. Take advantage of the great deals and try out this uniquely designed course.
Good links course
Good course for the golfer that can hit it straight,
Poor groudskeeping
Fairways were only half cut, tee boxes were dried out and uncut and greens were full of ball marks. They aren't spending any money on the upkeep.

This course will be challenging but fun
The frist two holes hard, then it open up to make it a little bet more fun. You half 9water holes to play with. If you play it you might get better in golf.
