About
Guadalajara Country Club in Jalisco is the annual host of the LPGA's Lorena Ochoa Invitational, an apt venue since it is the course where Ochoa first learned to play golf. The course was designed by John Bredemus, an American course architect most known for his work in Texas. The course has a classic parkland layout that is very different from the more tropical golf courses that Mexico's resorts are known for. It is an interesting contrast to those courses, offering a landscape dotted with mature oaks rather than palms or mangrove forests. The trees line the fairways and there is also an abundance of strategically placed bunkers. Guadalajara C.C. opened in 1942 and over the years it has earned a longstanding reputation as one of the finest golf courses in Mexico.
