Goat Farm
This course was in terrible shape. The greens are beaten up and it looks like they might have a disease as there are brown patches on almost every one. The fairways are very uneven, with some grass in places and dirt in others. There were goats grazing on hole #2, which may explain the lack of fairway. The bunkers were uneven and most of them had grass growing in them. I expected a resort like course, especially for $159 for the round, but was very disappointed. A couple of other items to mention. The golf carts are really beaten up. The one I had wouldn’t engage the brake and kept rolling away from me on hills. The rental clubs, which are Titleist, are at least 3/4 generations from the current models. I would not recommend playing this course.
Needs maintenance
Beautiful layout. Nice views. Course needs major maintenance. Greens and fairways burnt out. Greens were being top dressed. Tee boxes were not mowed. Played the course numerous times. This was the worst condition I recall. Hopefully they will put more money into course maintenance.
Aruba Golf
You would never play this course if you were home, but in Aruba, it’s fine.. Poor conditions,, playable, really nice water views. Nice day…… Hey, you’re golfing in Aruba….not so bad
This course is poorly maintained
We were excited to play this course for the first time and were quickly disappointed in how poorly maintained it is. They only had a few water stations throughout and no beverage cart running on a Saturday. Cost of $400 for two of us to play and definitely not worth the money.
Terrible course conditions
Beautiful amenities but it was like playing on Mars. Fairways were rocky and not very green, and you can easily lose a ball in the middle of the fairway. Not worth it for the price
Beautiful Course that has been severely neglected
Appalled at the condition of the course…..browned out fairways……diseased greens…..grass growing in the sand traps…..tee boxes overwhelmed with weeds and crabgrass. This course had their water shut by the government due to financial difficulties. As a result the course has suffered. Hardly any staff working the course. With all of this a fact they still charge $130.00 for a round of golf. This isn’t worth $25.00 per round. You know a course is in trouble if they are recycling their score cards….yes that’s correct…..they erase prior rounds that golfers leave on the cart and hand them out to the next people playing. On top of all this the staff is quite rude….when I voiced my displeasure with the condition of the course they told me to take it up with the online booking agent. So, that’s exactly what I am doing. Avoid at all costs….it’s a shame for quite a few years it was a delight to play there.
Gone way downhill
Course has deteriorated greatly.
Suffering substantially over the past 2 years surely due to Covid issues.
Fairways & greens were very brown & burnt out.
Tee boxes were in very poor shape.
Absolutely NOT worth the money anymore.
Very sad to see a very nice Robert Trent course fall into such disrepair.
Experiencing temporary irrigation problems.
I’ve been playing this course for years and loved playing here every time but unfortunately this was not one of those times. It’s pretty much completely burnt out with greens for the most part in poor to almost impossible to putt on condition. They had water cut off for several months which was beyond their control. On a desert island this result was inevitable. The good news is that it came back on the night before I played, of course too late for my experience. I hope it will be back to its normal beautiful conditions in a few weeks (fingers crossed).. Go there when it’s back, you’ll like it. Oh, practice your knock down shots. You’re gonna need them in this wind.
Horrible!
The course was completely burnt out. Every fairway, all the rough and every Teebox were burnt brown grass. Even the greens were horrible with only 10 to 20% of the green having green turf – the rest was either baked out or destroyed.
Everything was old and tired. The carts are 2014 model and look even older. Weird squeaks, loose steering and locking brakes. The rental clubs are several years old and in extremely poor condition.
The range had nothing but old mismatched balls that looked to be 10 to 20 years old. It’s quite sad because the layout looks like it might have been an interesting course with elevation changes and beautiful views of the sea from many holes, but now it just seems like a sad course that shouldn’t even be open to the public.
Poor Conditions and up keep
The course is completely burned up. Looks like they quit watering altogether. Was in a little better shape in 9/21 then now. The Divi 9 hole course was in great shape!
Very Poor Conditions
The course has totally burned out. They apparently have a failed water source for irrigation and haven’t irrigated for a couple of months.
Enjoyed the scenery, course layout
Okay, admittedly conditions on the boxes and some greens is a bit tough but you should still go! You will enjoy the experience and it is worrh the “deal price” to play!
Interesting and challenging layout
Tierra del Sol is an interesting and challenging layout located at the tip of Aruba island in an arid and desert like setting. Although rain squalls come and go rapidly on the island the desert like conditions are reflected in the conditioning of the course. Some areas on greens are in poor dry shape although they roll well. The dry and very windy conditions lead to difficult and challenging play that requires good course management, opportunities for errand shots and a course that plays longer than actual yardage. Lots of roll on many shots but not always where you want the ball to end up. Bunkers are coarse, compacted sand. Fun and different to play.despite its idiosyncrasies!
Awful conditions
This is a great course layout and you can tell it used to be a gem, but not anymore. The conditions are TERRIBLE and for $159 plus tax it is theft. Greens are awful, fairways also awful. Horribly maintained.
Aruba challenging conditions
Everything at the golf course is affected by the constant winds in Aruba. You have to play the wind, however when you’re with the wind it helps your shot. The greens are somewhat spotty as they dry quickly in the wind. The arid nature of the Aruban climate affects the fairways but it was what I expected.
Great scenery
The course’s overall landscape is beautiful! However the greens and fairways were in awful condition. They were completely dry and so bad that they effected putting. Great time away from the hotel, not worth full the price, would only recommend if you get discount from golf now. Free driving range.
Not worth the money.
Course was just ok. Some nice holes. Nothing exciting.
