COURTENAY, B.C., Canada -- There are 11 courses on the Vancouver Island Golf Trail and Crown Isle Resort & Golf Community is a perfect example of what to expect. This 7,025-yard championship layout is plenty difficult from the back tees, but with ample fairways, large greens and a great variety of holes, it's an enjoyable test for golfers of almost any level.

There are more than 500 members at the club, but there's plenty of room on the tee sheet for guests, who can stay at the resort's well appointed villas and enjoy this Graham Cooke design that features 11 lakes and views of the Beaufort Mountains and Comom Glacier.
