Sea Oaks Golf Club in Little Egg Harbor boasts hilly terrain, Atlantic City-skyline views

LITTLE EGG HARBOR, N.J. -- Sea Oaks Golf Club is one of the Jersey Shore's premier public golf facilities.

It is located at New Jersey's southern tip neighbored by other top golf courses such as Blue Heron Pines Golf Club and Harbor Pines Golf Club, but it still manages to hold its own.

Sea Oaks sprawls across hilly terrain with five holes that are particularly dramatic. On these lofty holes, you can enjoy views that stretch to Long Beach Island and the Atlantic City skyline. Mature oaks and pines line the fairways, and dozens of strategically placed bunkers frame the greens. Several man-made water hazards were also added to the course.

The course's designer, Ray Hearn, masterfully utilized the natural features of the scenic Pine Barrens while still preserving the beauty of the landscape.

One of the most scenic holes is the par-5 16th where a lake surrounds the green, tempting risky golfers to hit a fairway wood or long iron in order to carry it.

Born and raised in the former Soviet Union, photographer Oleg Volovik moved to the United States in 1992 and now lives with his wife and two children in Los Angeles. He joined the TravelGolf editorial team in 2010. Originally graduated with a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering he continued to dedicate his time and energy to his passion for visual arts and photography. Oleg has extensive experience in fine arts, fashion, event, architecture and journalistic photography. His work has been exhibited in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Moscow, where he also taught a master class, sponsored by Hewlett-Packard, in April 2007. He may be a novice golfer, but Oleg always wears a white leather glove during photo sessions. "Golf photography is my own 'game' with the beauty of nature and human creativity.
