TPC Cartagena course at Karibana Resort offers Nicklaus golf on the Colombian coast

CARTAGENA, Colombia -- In October 2014, the PGA Tour added its 33rd TPC course to its network and first in South America by opening TPC Cartagena at Karibana Resort off the northern coast of Colombia.

The Jack Nicklaus design, which opened in 2012 under the Karibana Beach & Golf Resort name, is also the home of the Karibana Championship, a new Web.com Tour event to played in March. The all-paspalum grassed course, with water hazards on nearly half the holes and the last three along the Caribbean Sea, tips out at nearly 7,000 yards.

Future plans at the resort also call for luxury hotel to be completed in 2016. Managed by Hilton, it will include a convention center, meeting space, spa, restaurants and rooftop pool.
