Excelente campo
Un campo que requiere concentración en cada salida y en cada tiro para llegar a green.
5 hours to complete a round!
Soooooooo Slooooooooow. Longest game of golf in my life. Very windy. The pace of play ruined the experience. Beautiful course and didn’t even mind the wind. Won’t be playing again anytime soon. Such a bummer.
Great greens and fairways
Solmar was fun with friendly and helpful staff. My irons were cleaned as I switched at driving range. The complimentary food and drink at the comfort stations was great with friendly staff. Greens were excellent and true- the pas pallum grass really was nice. Beautiful vistas and the sand dunes were huge as we rode by. Windy day but it kept us cool. Great time.
Awesome
This is the 100th course I’ve played and was easily in my top 10.
I would not select this course again for vacation unless conditions of course and weather are perfect.
There are too much sands on green and fairway in windy day.
Not much grasses on fairway.
Great time despite the recently punched Greens
Selected Solmar over others has the aeration warning was showing up on the others. However when we arrived we were informed they had recently punched the greens. Now in their defense they did give us $40 worth of credit on goods in the pro-shop to compensate us. Still a tough day putting. Over all love this course. The wind was manageable and we enjoyed ourselves. Keep in mind the last time we played here was a few days after a Hurricane, so it was in much better shape. The staff is friendly, and we enjoyed the conversation with the ranger as we played. I look forward to the next time, perhaps in perfect condition.
Beautiful views, well maintained links course
The tee boxes are as nice as most course greens. The staff was super friendly, and the links course was hard but doable.sine uphill holes and fairly wide open. Driving through the sand dunes to your next hole was a fun added element.
Gorgeous and Fun
Just loved playing here. Great course with fantastic views, fun and challenging holes. The Staff was great. They got us out 2 hours early. Alo a special shoutout to great service at the comfort stations with food. and rinks
Descuidado
Wonderful Staff
I normally do not write reviews but am making an exception in this case. When I arrived at the course my prescription glasses fell out of my pocket in the cab. I tried to hail the taxi to no avail. I entered the pro shop and explained my predicament. The young lady behind the desk tracked down the cab and I got my glasses back! I cannot say enough about the exceptional performance of this person, far above and beyond. I’m just sorry I don’t have here name. But she was not the exception at Solimar all of the staff was accommodating, friendly and helpful. Plus the golf course is wonderful! On a scale from 0 to 10 my experience was an 11! Cudos to Solimar!
Sand Blown
The wind made it very tough to play, the holes close to the beach had sand blowing constantly. The wind made it our worst round out of the 4 courses we played. Great course and condition of greens and fairways were very good. Just not sure if it is possible to play with out being very windy and sandy.
Beautiful and unique course
We loved the beautiful course. The holes were unique and challenging. The weather was much cooler than other courses played in Cabo which made for a better experience. Driving on the carts paths covered with drifting sand made it feel like playing on the beach. The comfort stations were great with a good choice of food and beverage options. The fairways and greens were in great shape. The staff were friendly and helpful. We can’t wait to return and play this course again. We highly recommend this course.
Nice course
Overall a very good experience. The only thing from making it great was they allowed groups to have 5 people for a bachelor party. By end there would be 4 groups on a tee box.
Solmar is No Bueno
We were really looking forward to playing Solmar and the course itself was great. Unfortunately the staff service could not be more disappointing. And it was across the board.
First we were greeted by a female working in the pro shop was rude and short with my whole crew. I decided not to buy anything there after the was she spoke to us. She obviously didn't want to engage or be helpful and treated us poorly.
Then the bartender making drinks took forever to put together a gin and tonic. Very hard to communicate with him and completing the transaction for two drinks took 20 minutes.
Finally we had a worker approach us while we were about to tee off on the 18th tee box (we had another foursome in our group right behind who just hit their tee shots on the par 3 17th hole). He told us the course was now closed and we needed to leave. We tee'd off at 3pm it was exactly 6:57pm when he approached us. There was plenty of daylight and we played well within our time limit. If anything their bartender held us up with another 2 drink 20 min delay on the turn.
I was told I can finish the last hole if I drive all of the workers home. Unbelievable. There are plenty of great golf courses in Cabo where they will be happy to see you and treat you appropriately. From the very start you could tell they don't want you here.
Windy course as you know it
Knew it was windy but didn’t know it was like 30 mph head on wind. In a way, I think the wind made the slope rating much more difficult. Layout was good but the amenities compared to puerto Los Cabos was way below expectation. With the same amount of money, I think I’d play somewhere else then suffering here. If you like sand dunes and wind, this course is your friend.
Don’t waste your time …
A 40 minute Uber ride to play in 40 mph winds is not fun. And not $300 worth of fun. The Pacific side of Cabo is always windy, but this was insane.
On the positive side, pace of play was terrific and the course staff is nice.
Also, here’s a tip: You have to let the pro shop know to call the guard gate to let in the Uber. That will save you 20 mins and mucho drama.
