Links golf with revetted bunkers
Beautiful vistas from every hole. Early morning tee times were not too busy and my husband and I were able to play just a twosome if we preferred. Later morning and afternoon may get a bit busier. Complimentary drinks and food in the comfort stations make the greens fees a really great deal. The course is in great shape and is truly beautiful. This is wonderful resort golf with a slope of 114 from ladies red tees and 136 from men’s gold tees, so players will be able to score well and leave happy, but also be challenged because the fairways are tight. Hit them straight and you will have a wonderful time. If you want more challenge, back it up to the slope that challenges you (from the black it’s 146). This is a links course with revetted bunkers that are a work of art. Greens can look closer than they are, but use the GPS and stats in the carts and you will be fine. On hole 17, the island green, I was told by another to go up 2 clubs, but I think that wasn’t the best advice and I hit it way over the island green. Use the club you usually would for the island green distance and put a little back spin on it if you have the skill! Greens may be a little spongy, but greens keepers were rolling them and they firmed up. You are not going to rush through and play your round fast here. Expect to play 4 hours, maybe 4.5, take a breath of fresh ocean air, have a drink, relax, and enjoy life. Anna in the golf shop was very helpful scheduling us a second tee time and holding our clubs since we enjoyed our time so much! Great brands in the shop, Bad Birdie, Travis Matthews, Straight Down, etc. Comparable prices to other high end resorts. You may want to bring a few extra balls if you don’t want to pay resort prices for Pro V1 balls. :-) It is very easy to bring your own clubs, your own balls, etc. Enjoy!

Over rated
The course is not worth the money if you are a high handicap golfer you might enjoy it but the single digit golfer you will take it apart absolutely boring fare ways and greens no routing no target golf no bunkers and fuzzy greens ugh can't go on its a 60 $ golf course for oldmen and children
Video game like course
A lot of course I've played on golfnow, take absolute glory shots for photos. Solmar lives up to all the pictures. Stunning course, beautiful facility, a must at in the Baja!
Carfished?
Check the address in Google. The link and distance from me was way off. My Uber had to find the right location and it took 3 to 4 times as long to get there. Great otherwise!
Amazing!!
I am still in awe of this course. Incredible views and location. The staff were so nice and amazing. Even if you have to rent clubs, do not miss playing here.
Gorgeous
We had the best weather possible. Very little wind and amazing views all around.
Golf course is a good test for all levels.
What a Gem
Greg Norman is in the news a lot lately but there should be noise about this course he designed. It’s spectacular in every way. I’ve played Playa Mujeres another one if his gems. This is my new favorite. Great staff and food. Felt welcomed and valued by all staff.
Stunning course on the Pacific
Was first one out and made it in just under 3 hours. One of the most enjoyable and visually stunning courses I've played. The wind will challenge any player and really make you adjust your approach. Would be shocked if this isn't in the Convo for best Cabo course very soon.
Top New Course in Cabo
Fantastic new Greg Norman design right along the Pacific! I have played 10-12 Cabo courses over the years and would rank this one as easily #2. (I still think quivira is my favorite). Fun track. Challenging (especially with the wind). Beautiful. Free tacos. All the things you'd want in a Cabo course. Would love to come back! Expensive but worth it!
Poor management / Pacing
Surprised by the positive reviews for this course. I recently played a round with my wife here and waited 5-10min on every hole to tee off (plus another 5-10min per hole waiting for our approach shots). On most holes, there were 3-4 groups backed up waiting. Not exactly the type of pacing you would expect from paying ~$350 per person. When we pointed out to the club pro that there was a 5-some playing two groups in front of us, he refused to believe it was true and offered no apology. Perhaps you’ll get lucky playing this course on a day when it’s not busy, but I’d personally spend your money elsewhere. We’ve golfed at many of the surrounding courses and had far better experiences at the same time of year.
Best course in Cabo
I have been playing various courses here in Cabo San Lucas and San Jose Del Cabo for the past 10 years, and this was the best course in this area I have ever played! A very fair course, but forces you to hit good shots. And when you do hit a very good shot, you are not penalized. Good variation in the elevation changes from the beachfront to the higher elevations. Staff is impeccable and the on course amenities were exquisite Definitely a course I will play over and over again. Great value for the money compared to the other courses in Cabo..

Top new Cabo course
I played nearly every course in Cabo during a month-long stay, and this is the one I could really see myself playing again and again. Feel lucky to have found it, as it’s so new they weren’t listed on a lot of the ranking sites. I believe you have to stay at one of the Solmar resorts to play here or be a member/owner. I stayed at the all-inclusive Playa Grande. The rates for both the hotel and lodging were pretty reasonable, especially when compared to Diamanté Dunes course down the road and the Nobu/hard rock hotels they partner with, and I found the dunes holes along the ocean to be equally majestic. While tough, I think it’s a more playable course with less gimmicks than some of the other courses in the area that almost play like a video game. Great food/drinks at the comfort stations and the service was awesome - they even let me take a caddy which was a lot of fun, although the course is so new that the green reads still need some work :)
Dunes for days at Rancho San Lucas
Rancho San Lucas shoots up near the top - if not TO the top - of my favorite courses in Cabo. Playing six holes with architect Greg Norman at the grand opening has nothing to do with my affinity for Cabo's newest course.
It's such a simple, yet well-thought-out, routing in a spectacular setting. Norman teases golfers with holes 2-3 near the beach and then blows them away with three sand dune holes on the back nine, starting with the spectacular 14th. The island green on the par-3 17th is a nice change-up from all that sand before the par-5 18th takes golfers home.
The only complaint? I wasn't alone in feeling the par-3 11th was the only hole that didn't feel playable, a theme Norman emphasized. I lost my tee shot in desert scrub both times I played the uphill, semi-blind tee shot.
The fairways are very generous in most places, which is necessary for a site that can get windy, especially in the off-season. Norman designed a shorter loop with holes sheltered from the wind for just that reason. Food and drink are free at two high-end comfort stations. Only members and guests at Solmar Hotels and Resorts get access, so choose where you stay in Cabo wisely. You don't want to miss this beauty.
One of the first to play!
We had the opportunity to play the course in November 2019 before it was officially opened. The course was in excellent condition and found it be fair with challenging holes. The cart paths, comfort stations and clubhouse were not completely finished, but you could tell it would be an excellent venue. Our caddie, Luis did a good job and was a pleasure to have him with us. Even though, it was his first time around the entire course also. My ratings are a little premature as we were one of the few golfers on the course. Would look forward to playing it again in the future. I want to thank Brad W. for making it happen!

Greg Norman should be running the PGA. He is a solid leader, not afraid to tell a player to straighten up. Hopefully would set some better guide rules. Don’t need stoned players, and dress code should be kept professional. It the last sport for clean cut people. When I and my friends start seeing long hair, to many tattoos and body piercings. We will play the game, but never watch it. There is more of us that think this way than you know. Even my 25 year old son admits it’s refreshing to see some dignity in the game of golf. JT
I must disagree with you. For more challenge you can always back it up (slope is 146 from blacks). It is a resort, not a PGA course, but there is fun challenge there if you want it, especially with the revetted bunkers.
