The third, a dogleg left of 376, typifies most of the holes on this course: not long, but challenging in other ways. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/13/2022

Seven ( # 3 index) seems like one of the best par-4’s in Connecticut. This photo doesn’t reveal just how tough it is to make a par here. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/13/2022

The fourteenth green, at 560 yards, will take two Herculean shots to reach in two, but anything less may find its way into the small brook before it. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/22/2020

Will be back often
I got on late, around 6pm to play my second round today. I live nearby and it’s always busy so I figured I could walk a quick loop. Sadly, both the front and the back side had slow groups reloading every bad tee shot. Come on man. So I skipped ahead.
That being said, I was able to walk about 14 holes until the sun went down. $25 for the twilight rate. Pro shop guy was cool. The elevation changes and slope is very challenging, which I love. Tee boxes are mostly very good. Every green is in great shape. But man, a ton of undulating that I hadn’t seen before , being my first time here. Next time I’ll know better. Fast rolls. Gotta stay below the hole.
It’s not a long course from the back tees. And it’s pretty wide open on most holes. I wasn’t perfect but I had good lies on most holes, even off the fairways. Rough is maintained pretty well. Bunkers were solid. I really don’t have any issues except these guys were way too slow and shouldn’t be hitting that many tee shots with groups in front and behind.
If you walk it, be ready to climb some hills. I’ll be back soon, hopefully with a faster loop.
Better Policing
A foursome jumped in on Hole 10.
Apparently they had been terribly slow and inconsiderate in the first nine. They went to the clubhouse, came back out and pretty much angered several groups with the their lack of etiquette. The cart return staff was aware ... Which surprised us. If they were aware they should have sent a ranger to deal with that group.
Excellent Municipal Course!
The fairways and greens were in excellent condition. The course is historic and reasonably challenging, with tough hole placements. Sand traps were gravelly as is often the case in New England. The course has a an excellent cafe serving food and beverages with a pretty patio overlooking the course. I will certainly return with my friends.

One hundred and nine years of golf tradition. Norwich Golf Club is just an Awesome place to play!
Good challenge from the Blues
Course in very good condition from tees, fairways and greens. Pace was OK but waited on almost every hole. Fair value for a weekend day.
Great value
Great Value, fun layout! Not the longest course but definitely challenging. Fairways and greens where in great condition, sand traps definitely need some work. Great pace-of-play for a Thursday afternoon, 3 hours 15 minutes to play 18. Staff is always on top of things and very friendly and helpful.
Early conditions with greens recently sanded.
Course a very nice layout in rolling hills. Side hill slopes reasonable and wide fairways allow high handicappers to enjoy play. Pace of play should have been faster but no ranger was seen and slow group in front of us made for a 4 hr round. We did enjoy the day and the value.
Course played great given the heavy rain 2 days prior great Donald Ross layout very good conditions for this time of year definitely will be back
Great course
The course is in great shape. Can be challenging 3 of the4 par 3 for the ladies are long but doable to make par.
Good value and friendly staff
I recently played three rounds of golf at Norwich Golf Course during the last week. I booked a “Hot Deal” each day and enjoyed all three rounds of golf. The Pro Shop staff, and the PGA Professional were very personable and accommodating. The course was in good condition for early Spring, and the tee boxes and greens were well maintained. The hot deal was fantastic. I finished all three rounds in approximately 3.5 hours with a cart.
