What a challenge
Bring your game. Not an easy course for sure. It's one you start and you immediately realize game on. No let up until your back and done with the 18th. The three penny story is legend.
What a challenge
Not one of the easier courses to play. Well protected greens
Fairway bunkers ask you to think your shot through. Makes.for.a.great round of golf.to complete. Pack an extra.ball or two . The water features dont give much back.
Great day. Potential weather issue. Wide open. Finished with great play. Course is top notch.
Best Delmarva Shore Course
Every time I play this course, I fall in love with it all over again. The fairways are like perfect green carpet and the greens always roll perfectly. It kicks my butt every time and I keep coming back for more.
Vacation Golf
Driving range was closed
No hot dogs at the grille
Sprinklers watering several greens. They were
Not playable
Resort level green fees not worth it
Great course but held back by a few small things
Great course layout, 6 tees to choose from, greens were lightning fast, fairways pristine, rough was deep due to recent rains, bunker sand was perfect consistency. There were a few things missing that I expect from a course charging this much. Firstly, there is no GPS on the carts. This helps speed play by not having to mess with an app on your phone or shoot distances with a range finder. Secondly, they do not offer unlimited range balls but instead give you a bag of 20. That’s just not enough to warm up with, IMO. They also don’t need offer senior discounts and their junior rates are 15 & under.
For a Nicklaus designed course charging >$100 a round, these 2 things are why I knocked it down a star.
Beautiful course, great condition
Wonderful day at this course. Started late because of a tournament that was finishing up. Weather cooperated.
Very difficult first 2 opening holes, otherwise difficult but manageable. You have to play smart and not attempt too many forced carries. There is always room for bailout instead of making hero shots. Greens were a little on the slow side, but true.
Excellent challenge
Course was in great shape. Pace of place was an issue after the 11th hole till end added an hour. Ranger needs to speed play. Overall great day. Need to play this course.
Bayside Resort
The course is in phenomenal condition right now. Greens are quick and responsive, fairways are soft and in good shape and the staff was very friendly. I will be playing this course again in the near future. I think it is either better or just as good as Baywood Greens. Both courses are fantastic
Course in Great Shape-Pace Poor and Rangers not doing job
Played this afternoon as won’t play Fathers Day weekend. Course in very good condition. Please remember this is a DIFFICULT Nicklaus design. Play off the proper tee and if high handicapper bring enough golf balls as a lot of water and forced carries. The front 9 went well until we caught up with a group that was LOUD, OBNOXIOUS and DRUNK! Literally stagginering on course and in the parking lot afterward. They help us up the entire back 9 making it 245-300 hours. Could get no rhythm as we waited literally on every shot. The greens fees are faiirly steep, thus the reason I rated this LOW value for my $$. If it was a 3:45 Total round that would have been much better. THe Rangers non-existent to push along or better yet escort them off the course. I will not be playing here for some period as my experience was POOR>
Not a Nicklaus BUILT course
So, first of all, I had a good time playing the course, the layout is challenging and risky. The quality of the course is the only issue I have and it’s huge. The greens were nowhere near the quality of a Troon Course and the sand traps are even worse. Traps weren’t raked clear prior to play, it had not rained in days but the bunkers were crusted over and very thin. The first green was so slow the ball quit rolling along a down hill line, the second green was so fast that holding the green was improbable. Walking across the apron on the back nine was like walking over a marshmallow field. I’m saying that there was no consistency to the course. I had high expectations and they simply aren’t met here.
I have discovered that there is an enormous difference between Nicklaus Desgined and Nicklaus Built. I will not play here again. As a way of comparison, I have played Pebble Beach, Plantation and Kiawah Island. Plantation & the Bay Course are Troon courses worthy of their reputation.
Awesome layout and great condition..!
It was awesome looking course and HARD..!
But it was worth every penny I spent, will definitely come back..!!
Great Value for the GolfNow Price!
Played as a single from the Green/Members tees which were back with Gold on several holes. The course is picturesque along the Assawoman Bay estuary and marshes. This was a very stern test of golf with water and/or forced carries or both on each holes. Must bring your best game and for those who are not straight I suggest bringing an extra dozen golf balls as very easy to lose a LOT of balls. I loved the green as putted very true and were perfect speed for good players. I got a GolfNow tee time so not pay full rate so for that price was a great value! I will play course again
Tough course in the wind.
Played in two club wind. Made it very tough. Course was in good shape .
