About Dothan National Golf Club and Hotel
The discovery of a natural hot spring in the 1960s inspired the birth of The Dotham National Golf Club & Hotel. Its hotel and golf course were built shortly afterward. The healing waters of the spring are heated and pumped into an indoor spa pool available only for guests. All the rooms and suites have been updated. Packages can include a breakfast buffet, breakfast and lunch or dinner, too. The 7,425-yard, par-73 course lined by pines has hosted the SEC Championships multiple times.Facts

Slow pace
Several groups of six or more even a group of 9 on one hole. This group was a group on intoxicated people who turned out to be members I’m told. Since they ended up trying to start an altercation with a group of sixteen year old kids in the parking lot doesn’t say much for the club. This group of intoxicated bums chased these kids around crashing golf carts and just generally being obnoxious. Not what I like to see at golf club. I doubt I return the course is average shape to just below that. Nice layout but nothing special.
Improvements
The owners have improved the driving range with TopGolf style simulation. The clubhouse and restaurant have improved over the years. Staff were working on the course all day.
Good value for the money
Course in pretty good shape. Staff was super friendly. Challenging course. Not busy at all so finished in 3 hours. Hotel was clean but definitely needs updated!!
7 somes
I counted 7 golfers on one hole - many holes had six somes - course has a nice layout but total bust with golfers everywhere skipping holes and large, large groups on most hles
Course is very nice
Good: Had zero issue with the course, it was beautiful, layout was amazing. Very well kept course that provided a few challenging holes. Greens are in great shape and very receptive.
Bad: Allowed a group of 8 to tee off together, had players driving and parking on tee boxes and fringe. Pro shop could use some work and maybe a few more golf items. Pace of play was slowwww.
Good course for the cost
This was a stopping point for us from Bowling Green KY. Spring break for my son and headed on down to the Valspar championship later in the week. Booked the course because it was listed as hosting the SEC championship. Did not realize that was in 1974!! We almost did not play this location but decided to since we paid. Glad we did. Course was a bit rough in areas but we had fun and talked to others who bring a group from Chicago yearly. Had a good time and relaxed atmosphere.
Nice layout. Greens were pretty thick and also burned out in spots. Pace of play was slow. It was a cold day so we ended up leaving early. Staff was very friendly.
Fantastic Experience
The course was enjoyable through all 18 holes and the staff was exceptional.
