Overrated for the price
I know this place is a resort but the course needs to be in a lot better shape. Plus stop jamming the tee times up so you finish in under 5 hours
Could be an amazing course
Enjoyed my round at Arizona Grand yesterday even though it was 111 degrees. The course was in relatively good shape considering it is in transition from winter rye to summer burmuda. There were a couple of holes that are under construction, the second hole is being played as a par 3 rather than par 4 and tee box is in what is normally the fairway. Many of the holes have blind shots which make it especially challenging for a first time player. The greens were soft and held very well. They were also slow but pretty true. The staff was very friendly and the cart service was excellent. The beverage cart was around every 3-4 holes so we could remain hydrated. Overall, it was a good experience that I will play again when temperatures drop.
Horrible Experience
Pace of play was 5 1/2 to 6 hours, marshall said to be patient vs moving the slow groups. After playing 12 holes in 4 hours, I was over it.
Descent course
Not a bad course for only $50
Some greens need improvement
The pace of play really needs to improve
Busy Course
First Tee Time is 5 am, any stays packed from there. Was real nervous about pace of play, but ended up fine and finished in 4:10. First three greens were real chewed up but others were better. Over all afun course as it winds through South Mountain.
Father’s Day surprise
It was a perfect golf course for the average golfer.
I enjoy playing this course. Fun layout, friendly staff.
Fun Course
Arizona Grand is a fun course. There are a lot of blind shots, dog legs and elevation changes throughout the course. A lot of desert and some water holes. The front 9 is like a resort course and the back 9 holes are through mountains and houses. The greens were recently punched but should be in good shape soon. There are some great holes and unique approach shots throughout the course. They provide a yardage book, which should be paid attention to on most holes. The staff were great, everyone was friendly and helpful!
very challenging
not knowing the course and were to hit your ball made it more of a challenge
Fabulous!
Staff was welcoming, friendly & very helpful. This was our first time playing this course. We booked it for a 60th birthday round Beautiful, challenging - we will be back!!!
Tee time was delayed 35 minutes. Pace of Play was
2:40 minutes for 9 holes !
No Ranger around. Kids from neighboring Condi picking players balls on first fairway??
Course was ok as it transitions to Bermuda.
But why the problem at 4 pm??
Target Golf at its finest
Arizona Grand is a nice resort level course. The first tee is slightly odd with a blind tee shot. Not really what you want to start out with but it makes it for an interesting set up for the rest of the round. As far as I’m concerned they should refund you for the first three holes. The fairways and greens were in bad condition and there is construction on the second hole right now. However, after you get past those holes this is a wonderfully challenging course for all levels. Tight undulating fairways with few flat spots. I was lucky to play with regulars, but had I not it would have been a tough course to get around. Only took out the driver once as most holes probably average 350 yards. Beautiful scenic par 3’s throughout which closes out the 18 with one of the nicest views I’ve seen on any course in Phoenix area, overlooking the entire Tempe, Scottsdale, Mesa and Downtown Phoenix area. It’s quite a site. Fix the first three holes and this is a very good course.
