Canoa Ranch Golf Resort

Greens were punched but no warning on golfnow. The sandbunkers are all rocks and some have orange cones around them. Do better. the desert views are great and course layout is strong but would never play w punched greens for full price.

In spite of the greens it was a wonderful day on a beautiful course with nice people. The course is always a challenge in wonderful surroundings. Marvelous vistas in every direction you look. Can hardly wait until next time.

I got to the course 1 & 1/2 hours early so I could practice. The starter said play was "sparse" at the moment, would I like to play alone? No, I said, I really prefer playing with the group of three golfer's you currently have me joining. Sure, I would too, he said.

So, off I went to hit a small bucket of balls, chip and putt.

A little before my tee time I went to the starter but had to wait a short time for him to return to his station. At this point he informed me I would need to play alone and the tee box was mine. What happened to the group I was to join, I responded. They already teed off, he said...and I wondered where you got off to.

So, I ended up with two players in front of me, who were playing from the tips (that they were not good enough to play from) and two players behind me.

The two in front were slow and the two in back were pushing me. I would have joined the two in back, but they never asked, even though there were ample opportunities to do so.

I made the best of it though and hit two shots when the two guys behind me were not pushing me hard.

This problem is not unique to Canoa Ranch. Most all of the starters in Green Valley don't try very hard to put foursomes out.

Fun layout with nice views but this is the second time recently that I have arrived for a booked tee time at a golf.now course to find without any prior notice a major aeration had just taken place. Very disappointing.

Worse aerial on greens i have ever seen. Plugs all over the greens and fringes. Many plugs had no sand. Who ever did this should be fired. As usual the bunkers are disgusting. Golf course mentions nothing about this on the website.

course was all tore up. only nine holes open...no warning at booking. did not advise course conditions until on driving range warming up...terrible

The otherwise enjoyable round of golf was spoiled by the fact that most of the traps/bunkers were either under repair or otherwise unplayable (water). Unless your short game is sharp, this course is very demanding (six par 3s)

Haven't played this course in many years. Playing a tournament at PGA West this weekend and needed to play. Grandson and I had a good time playing here. Course challenging but fair.

Pleasantly pleased with course condition. Greens a little slow but in good shape. Staff incredibly friendly and helpful. The bad point. Course was overloaded. Tee time scheduled for 10:16, went off 15-20 minutes late and finished at 3:45. Well over 5 hours. Every par 5 had a group on the green, group in the fairway, group on the tee box, and one waiting. Every whole backed up… not a pace of play, everyone was cognizant of keeping up that we could see, just too many groups. Fortunately we were not in a rush

Entirely too slow with the old geazers taking their time like its their own back yard!!!

Great layout and views! Don't even try to play out of the (what they call) sand traps. Full of rocks and if any sand less than a 1/4 inch and then like rock. Conditions could be a little better, but for the price one of the best courses south of Tucson.

I would like to start off by saying that the staff and clubhouse are amazing at this course! The course itself is meh, pretty much like any other desert golf course. If you don't hit a fairway then your ball will be gone in the desert somewhere. Fairways and greens were in good condition and the starter was nice enough to bring me my food so overall a great experience!

Had a great time on this course. Layout was really fun and varied. Everything except the sand traps was great. Don’t understand how a desert course can’t have sand in the traps ! But still, this did not really take from the round. Also played with a group of locals who were very friendly and enjoyed their company
