Canoa Ranch Golf Resort

Great views but greens are slow. There are no marshalls so round was nearly 5 hours. Waited every hole.

First the good. A golf now deal got me on the course for $50. Canoa is a nice desert layout with stunning views. Conditioning was good to excellent except for the bunkers which were terrible.

Arrived to find a 25 - 30 minute wait before teeing off. No reason given. No carts either - had to wait for foursomes to finish before getting loaded up. How can you not have enough carts on a March weekend? The starter forgot to include me in the foursome I was scheduled to play in. When I inquired he assured me that he'd, "Get me out". This while a threesome (my group) was on the tee. 5+ hour round and left after 16 holes. Brutal.

Challenging without a doubt. Playing smart golf is a must. Do not get yourself in trouble. Definitely going back for more.

We started playing, all looked ok. On the 3rd hole noticed some very dark clouds and heard some rumbles. By the 7th hole there was lightening in the area and started to pour. We went back to clubhouse immediately. Went to pro shop and asked if they gave rain checks and was told no. Very disappointed. A friend played the sister course Torres Blanca the week before and had the same thing happen - no rain checks.

I would recommend this course as long as there was no weather issues.

Would had a much higher rating if bunker were fixed. Not playable.

We followed a foursome with a lady, so we waited a little (not a complaint), but we stayed back while the were in the tee box. We had a foursome behind us, they had three carts, and never stayed back while we were in the tee box. On the back nine, after a few holes, they dropped to a twosome. On a par three, they pulled the cart right up behind us, with a radio blasting! A comment was made by one of my friends, he didn't care for that, and he was told it was a song they didn't like either? Said it was just a song the radio station was playing??? Now how stupid was that for an answer??? I had two friends that had never played the cours e before, one from Indiana, and one from Canada. I think this was very rude!!! I hope we can play there again, without that kind of crap going on!!! Thank you

Course was horrible. The “starter” had no idea who was up on the tee when. Gas carts with no GPS, and the rough was dirt. Sand was rocks. Worst golf course in Southern Arizona. Not worth $75.

The course was well designed, the staff was great, but the sand traps were either full of water or empty of any decent sand. Caliche is not sand!! Someone needs to bring in or sift many loads of sand and then maintain the traps. At least the traps by the greens could be raked the rocks could be removed. We played the traps as ground under repair, because they should be! Oh, and never saw a marshal to talk to about how slow the group in front of us was.

Friendly staff and good carts. I'd give it a 5, star if there was sand in the traps. It's just mud and dirt.

Canoa used to be one of my favorite courses in this area. Unfortunately, the traps have gotten so bad that I would rather be hitting off of the road surface. This seems to have been a gradual decline over time and now it's worse than it's ever been.

Great Day for golf. A little windy at the end. Course in great shape and fun to play.

This is a beautiful course I couldn't give 5 stars cause the sand traps were horrible but the fairwaysand greens were excellent. The staff left a lot to be desired not friendly or helpful at all. We had planned to eat at the restaurant but we couldn't even get a beer for a long time so we left and went to San Ignacio Golf Club and let me tell you, they had it going on and the food and service was impeccable. Sad I had to.leave a Review like this cause it is a fine facility, just need some major training in being a people person and acknowledgeing people when they arrive.
