View, weather, course, excellent! Photo submitted by springlake on 12/12/2012
Very scenic course
The course is great except for the bunkers, lots of rocks and not much sand.
Very, very, Poor Greens
The greens at Canoa Ranch are in the worst shape I have ever seen here; putting is half the game and you are at a distinct disadvantage. There is little to no grass on the putting surface. Coupled with impossible pin placements, 3-5 putts per hole are.not unusual.
No sand in the bunkers. I will not play here this season again.
Should be a $10.00/round because of conditions.
Slow play
We had a great round through 10 holes, brief waits on tee boxes, but a pace that moved right along. We were having fun and playing well. Starting on 11, it got really slow, I mean hit a shot, go to your ball and wait. The slowness of the back 9 took all of the rhythm out of the game. I was 5 over through 10, I was 12 over for the last 8 holes. Fortunately I was in good company, and their scores rose just like mine. It would have been nice to see a marshal to keep the pace going.
Great course
Views of mountains on many holes, varied desert style layout, challenging yet somewhat forgiving, friendly staff.
Great course layout, bad, bad bunker conditions
Visually stunning course. Very good hole layout. Bunkers were in terrible condition. Big rocks, very little sand.
Bunkers brutal
Canoa has such potential to be a great course. The bunkers are not maintained at all. Such a shame.
Very seanic golf course
Love the layout , The only downside is the bunkers . It would be nice if they try to work the dirt bunkers , that really is the complaint I have about this course.
Nice course
Nice course, generally in good condition, as long as you ignore the sandless bunkers. The greens were pretty good, but playing late in the day, they were kind of bumpy. Playing with a fun group makes up for some of this.
PUT SOME SAND IN THE TRAPS
Worse bunkers I've ever seen. Is it so hard to put some sand in them?
Nice course!
Live Northwest of Tucson. But my playing partner and friends enjoy traveling to Green Valley to play their courses. Our favorite is Canoa. Reasonable price for the course. Only bummer is hole #9. Last year when we played it, it was a par 5. Had a good drive. Second shot was 10 feet from the pin. Drained the put. "Eagle". Not bad for a 74 year old. But this year they made the proper adjustment and made it a Par 4 as it should be. But, for me it was an eagle in 2022.
Great course. Play it!
Upgrade your sand traps and I will give you 5 stars.
Nice layout and in good condition except the bunkers, they are terrible. You cannot play out of the rock filled dirt holes ( certainly not bunkers).
My favorite layout in Green Valley, however the sand traps are awful they should decide to put some money in to them or remove them they are unplayable so we just take free drops out of them.
