Great conditions. Arizona must play in Tucson
This is a very fun course .You can hit driver and let it fly. Very wide fairways.Great sand and greens.
Worth the drive from any where in Arizona. I love this course.
Nice staff at bag drop ,pro shop, starter, and cart girl .
This is a well run club.
Sewailo in the Summer
Even with the recent monsoon actions the course is in great summer shape =including the greens. The bunkers have been washed away pretty dramatically due to heavy monsoons. As expected here in Tucson, no one should expect them to be redone prior to September (after monsoon season). That is part of life in the Sonoran. Desert. Very nice course, as usual.
Rained all day Before
Everything was in great condition
But had to walk all 9.8 miles, cart path only.
Enjoyed the game
Improved Condition, great greens!
Thoroughly enjoy playing Sewailo. Challenging but fair layout. (# 10 one of the toughest holes around). Local knowledge a must to avoid fairway bunkers and water hazards. In past year noticed fairway and tee box conditions had deteriorated with patches of bare dirt, however the past 2 months conditions have improved. Greens are as good as any course in Tucson. Hold approach shots and are very smooth and true to putt. Staff are very welcoming! Go play!
A must play course in Tucson - in my top three!
This is a fantastic course. Challenging, fun, and sure to please They keep this course in great shape.
MATUERING NICELY
We have played Sewailo 2-3 times per year since it opened. The plant material was new and small with little shade, and there were several gotcha holes where the fairway/hazard configurations were hidden from view. The landscaping has grown well, some of the more penile holes have been made more playable, and the grounds maintenance has been good. The GPS equipped carts are a good amenity, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Overall, the entire facility has matured very well, our entire foursome was very pleased with our experience, and we would definitely recommend Sewailo to other golfers.
Sewailo is a Treasure
I live on the other side of town, and don't play Sewailo as often as I would like. So, it's a real treat when I do. The design of this course is unique for Southern Arizona. Water comes into play on a majority of the holes, and that is something you just don't often encounter in this region. The course is hosting a major amateur tournament in the next couple of days. So, it was in excellent shape. Due to the monsoons and summer heat, most courses cannot make that claim this time of year. Conditions were not perfect, but about as good as it gets anywhere in the middle of July. The maintenance staff does a pretty good job all the time, though. I've never encountered this course in bad condition. One thing that players need to be aware of, especially this time of year, is that water is only available at the two comfort stations and near the starters position at the practice area. Bring your own water container and refill it every chance you get. It's hot out there. A cart girl does make the rounds, but I don't know if that is the case on weekdays. Stay hydrated.
