Morning view down the Par-5 5th fairway. A strong drive, especially to the center-right fairway, sets you up to go for the green in two! Photo submitted by vmustang on 04/25/2021

Great time
Course was in excellent shape. Wife and I thouroughly enjoyed our game, will definitely play there again
Fun
Greens were slow after overfeeding, other then that course was good, need to marshal pace of play
Overall good condition. The greens were a little slow and 1 needed some TLC. But just challenging enough for a high handicapper like me. I'll definitely come back.
Class Course
This classic course has been around about 100 years. It was popular for movie stars and the elite. With small greens and a flat layout it is well maintained and makes for an enjoyable round.
Watch out for the Grinch Bartender that stole Christmas
Everything was ABSOLUTELY perfect with the exception of the young lady bartender in the morning that had zero personality and was even rude to my 83 year old mother. Course conditions were great! Cart path only sucks but I understand. Will definitely play there again.
Getting better each year.
The course has improved over the past years. The pace was slow but that is because it was one of few courses open first after overseed. The course will play well once the cut the grass down.
Don't play in October
To be fair, the course had just completed it's over-seeding process. Naturally, the greens were slow and the tee boxes were hairy. We were paired with 2 men from the area and they were the best part of the day. It was cart path only but about half of the golfers adhered. Be sure to bring your helmet due to several holes of cross-play and bad golf by others. The staff was mostly unfriendly, with the exception of the nice kids eager to clean clubs at the end of the round. But even with a good tip, they were ready to get to the other golfers and I ended up carrying our bags back to the bag drop to pick them up in the entry.
Bad timing
I understand timing not being good with overseeding. I do not understand the rudeness and short-sightedness of the staff attending to our needs on a bad time of year.
This course would be fine …
Our timing was off on this visit. Recent overseeding and grass clippings in the fairways were inconvenient but the greens were ridiculously slow and fuzzy.
Having said that, we were advised to these limitations prior to the round. I think under normal conditions, this course would be fine. Be warned however, a number of the golfers that golf here are very casual and high handicappers. A lot of golfing from the adjacent fairway!
Capone's Playground
I love San Marco but ended up playing during reseeding process. 'Cart path only. Very furry greens and dense rough.
Extremely slow play.
And all thanks to every 8-minute tee times during its "cart path only" phase.
