Morning view down the Par-5 5th fairway. A strong drive, especially to the center-right fairway, sets you up to go for the green in two! Photo submitted by vmustang on 04/25/2021

Great course to play!!
GPS brought me to a gated closed entrance.
Very little distance help nor distance information on winding creek.
Worth a visit
Course in good shape, good value, suggest early tee off times
Visiting from NY
Absolutely beautiful day to play golf, The young man loading the clubs in the cart was extremely friendly and Steve and the clubhouse was just phenomenal. He hooked me up with some equipment that I was short of and also found out that he lived about an hour and a half from me many many years ago. The course and these two guys are the reason that we will definitely be back, it will be happy to recommend it to many others. Hope to see you all again soon!
Does anyone fix ball marks anymore at this joint?
We had a tee time at 228 and wish we didn't. The pace of play was horrid. People teaching others, folks playing from black when it should be white. Range drive by with his head down. Cart lady gets struck by ball. 7 to 8 min wait per hole. Greens so many fresh ball marks as if nobody know how to fix the. Putting was like going off-roading. Just a complete frustration. Maybe summer at 115 instead of 95 will be better. I hope so.
A very nice course
To begin, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The course is in very nice condition compared to similar and even more expensive plays. The place was a bit slow but we still finished in well under 4 hours, actually about 3 1/2 hours. I will definitely play again and would recommend also.
Solid course condition
Greens a bit slow but definitely a go to when on a budget
Nice as usual
Great day of golf.
One of my favorite courses, love the history.
First grass course in AZ!
I’m a nerd. Had to play it when I read that it was the first grass course in AZ. I definitely recommend it but manage your expectations. The facilities are minimal, including the practice area. It is an open, tree lined course with plenty of sand and a little water. It was well maintained and definitely a value.
San Marcos
If you tend to spray the ball this is not a course for you. If you are to the left or to the right of the green they are typically bunkered on both sides. The greens are narrow and it is very difficult to clear the bunker and keep the ball on the green. Often you end up in the other bunker. Pace of play was painful. We waited on every tee box due to a foursome in front of us that were very slow and did not offer to let us play through. No ranger came around to speed up play. If this is what San Marcos wants the club to be I will not come back.
