Amazing
The course was not in superb shape but that didn't diminish the round. A great layout and scenery that has to be seen to be believed. A true gem of a golf course designed by Weiskopf. Do yourself a favour and play here.
Fantastic experience! Secluded, Beautiful Red-Rock country!
Played in Dec. so course was frozen for first 2 holes. Probably the most beautiful course I've ever played and that includes 2 courses in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Red rock Sedona is the setting and the elevation changes, the water hazzards, along with an excellent layout were consistently capturing the our imagination. This is the essential private club experience, very secluded, and a bit on the wild side. We had our play on the 6th hole delayed while a herd of about 2 dozen javalina crossed the fairway. Totally cool! The condition of the course was not the greatest on the back nine, mostly due to the fact that it was in bankruptcy, were scrimping by with very low maintenance activity.
Lastly, I loved how quiet the course was. It was absolutely peaceful.
an experience not to be missed
Extremely scenic course with some challenging shot selections.
an experience not to be missed
well-maintained course with amazing scenery makes for a great round. The day we played we had 45 mph wind, and 58 degrees, but it was still an enjoyable round...but challenging due to weather.
A Don't Miss while in Arizona.....
Great views while golfing this very challenging course. You must be in the fairways to have a chance a reaching these greens in regulation. This is target golf that rewards good shots and penalizes you if your off the fairways. Ensure you use the tees that suit your handicap. The vistas while there are incredible and I have golfed alot of coursed through out the Canadian and BC Rockies and Interior of BC.
The time of the year we golfed was early December, it was chilly, but worth it. I look forward to golfing there in the spring or later.
Good choice
Fantastic area, Good Shape of the course, very friendly staff and as well Good Location after golf sitting for a beer and food
Very scenic views!
For early winter course was in good shape. Greens were receptive but quick. Fairways had a few patchy spots but overall were good. Accuracy is a premium here.Dont let the hole yardage fool you, elevation changes are tricky to see. A very good test of your golf skills.
This Course is challenging and fun, but.......
My experiance at this course was mixed. The course conditions were exceptional and the views were spectacular. The staff was not very attentive for the amount of people playing that day. We had to search for the starter to get our cart and the front desk was not very informative. The restaurant food was great, but the sevice was poor. We were not asked if we wanted re-fills on our beverages when the only other table was. I hope our service was not determined by the fact we were from out of town and not members. I would give the course a second try, due to the quality of the course itself. RLH From Vegas
A beautiful setting with gorgeous views however...........
This course was in deplorable shape. Tee boxes were dry and bare; fairways were either dry, lacked grass, or were torn to shreds by Javelinas. Not what one would expect judging by price or previous reviews.
Great scenic setting only a few miles from Sedona.
Very good course, well maintained and with very fast greens.
Great View, Terrible Condition
What once was a world class course has deteriorated greatly as a result of the ongoing bankruptcy of it owner/management company. The tee boxes and fairways are ragged and the greens and traps poorly maintained. The lack of operating money is obvious. Not worth the greens fee charged. Hopefully a wealthy entity will purchase and return to its past glory.
Amazing track - must play
I will admit I was a little skeptical based on some of the bad reviews that have been posted... But I decided to play it anyway and I was very glad I did. The moment I pulled in the parking lot the staff was taking care of every need. The starter was outstanding - gave me some course knowledge, a little history, and rule of thumb for compensating for the altitude. This course has the best scenery I've ever played to. One draw back if you forget your rangefinder are the rare and hard-to-find yardage markers. I was fortunate enough to join up with two members on the back and they explained the course was changing ownership and they have a minimum staff until everything is finalized. They also explained this thing called a "javelina" that looks like a small pig that is wild in this region and likes to dig holes in the fairway and look for worms, bugs, etc... So the staff spends a lot of effort chasing this damage. I would definitely recommend this place. My ball never found a ground under repair section or a javelina spot so don't let that sway you. The members also said they dropped the greens fee from 180 to 125. The fairways and greens are very protected but with a little finess it makes for a very fun round. Bring your best putter - the greens are crazy tough. Good luck, and don't forget your camera.
Had a super time. our tee time was exactly as requested, staff friendly, course not backed up at all, would go back any day, thoroughly enjoyed.
course in great shape; lots of challenges with bunkers, water, but not unreasonable. the view is absolutely surreal. hated to leave, we had such a good time.
Beautiful location
The views of the red rock mountains surrounding the course are spectacular. We were disappointed in the overall condition of the course. Most of the fairways had large "Ground under repair" areas and several of the greens had recently repaired spots on them.
Fantastic!
This course is hard to get to but well worth it. The natural setting and the stunning views added to the enjoyment of Seven Canyons.
The course was challenging, I hit more approach shots with 3-4-5 irons than my previous 4 rounds combined. I will play here again when in the area.
The only downside - They had a limited number of sprinkler head yardage markers in the fairway and they made my wife pay to ride along.
The sceney was awesome.
The course is in recievership and they are working on getting it going. Overall it was in good shape and we will go back. I think they need to add GPS to the carts, add more carts and make better markers at the tees . Other than the score card or the yardage book, if you bought one, it was hard to figure out where to go and figure distances..
Beautiful Experience of Sedona Geography... on a golf cart!
I was going to play golf in Sedona, with my wife riding along, and decided to check GolfNow for deals. Luckily I did, finding a noon rate of $60 (about half off). This therefore came in competitively with other Sedona courses so we took the tee time, and are we glad we did! The course is amazingly situated in the seven canyons area of Sedona; how they fit it in that terrain and maintain the natural beauty is what amazes me. Squeezing a course in like that brings tight play and very challenging holes. The beauty and upkeep of the course is what makes it an amazing experience, well worth the money we paid. It's an opportunity to experience the beauty of Sedona without having to hike so much and instead ride a golf cart and enjoy a great sport all at the same time.
One of the best I've played
Great course, great scenary, very nice staff.
The only issue was the restaurant being closed for lunch providing a lame excuse like the chef could not make it.
Major disappointment
This was without a doubt the worst booking I have ever made through Golf Now. The course was in poor shape. The fairways were either dried out or soggy, depending on the hole. The tee boxes were shabby, and the grass on the greens was long enough to leave footprints. The check in was silly. Get a cart, drive a half mile to pay a dismissive attendant in the pro shop, drive back a half mile to the tee box. The only nice feature was the view of the surrounding area.
Must Play
Seven Canyons is an Arizona "must play" golf course. Always in exquisite shape, Seven Canyons is a challenging, championship course with some of the best views Arizona has to offer.
