Try to keep your head down
The challenge of this course, in addition to the sand traps and undulating greens, is the picturesque RED ROCK location. I play once a year just for the scenery, as the cost is a bit steep compared to others in the area. It is a must at least once in your life.
Most scenic round of golf I ever played
Course was in good condition and the staff was very helpful. Best part of the day, however, was the spectacular views on just about every hole. I also found the course to be less difficult than it looks. I usually spend less for a round on golf but this round was well worth the the money.
Fun course
Tough course from the tips. Bring some extra balls
Spectacular Views
This is a golf course that is all about the views. You could not be blamed for lifting your head a bit while playing this track. Even the view from the driving range is astounding. Some funky holes, but in general, very enjoyable. If it is your first time, I would recommend purchasing the yardage book. The player tips in the book are quite useless, but it is worth having the pictures to understand what lies ahead.
Very poor upkeep
Greens just verticut but no comment from staff
About this. They are working on bunkers
but vast majority did not even have rakes
Fairways poor condition needed to play
winter rules
Excellent, Scenic, Pristine condition, WOW factor
Teed off at 11:40 with gusty wind conditions however sunny and warm. Driving range had awesome views of the hills surrounding the course. It is a Tom Weiskopf course. The course is mature and has tight fairways. Lost about 5 balls, and still shot a 91. When I lost a ball, I could not help but admire the beauty of the red rock specifically the coffee pot which provides stunning views. At one point I could not find the 9th hole, and ended up replaying hole number 3 with a couple of great guys. Went back to find the 9th, and was still ahead of the twosome behind me. Hole # 4 is spectacular with the Tee box some 80 feet above the green.
Enjoyed the round of golf. Staff very friendly.
From the bag boy to the guy who was setting up the practice driving area, the people treated my wife and I very well.
The course is in need of additional maintenance. We understand the club is working through some difficult times (like most public courses).
We would certainly play it again. The property is fantastic. Scenery is beautiful. The pace of play was a little too quick, 4 hours would have been better.
great scenery . greens could use some work
great views of red canyons . staff not overly helpful . could use better signage on course . cannot purchase drinks if not a member or member guest.
Great course, terrible service.
My friends and I traveled to AZ from Chicago to play this course as well as others. The course was in great shape and the scenery was spectacular. Many elevated tees with the red rock mountains as a backdrop. The staff however, were simply terrible except for the doorman at the gated entrance. He seemed very helpful and gave us some tips on how to play the course. As for the staff once in the parking lot, carts were driven to car and that is about as helpful as it got. We payed our fees and even got a quick bite to eat but it seemed liked no one wanted to be there. The staff almost appeared to be bothered that we were there. By the way, we were only one of three groups on the course that day so I would think they would've been more helpful. After our round, we attempted to get some drinks but were informed we could not be served as they had a private liquor license. It was then clear to us that this course was made public for financial reasons however with this type of service, the private members will have to pay to keep it open...
Beautiful scenic course
One of the most beautiful courses in the country, that being said it is in bankruptcy and is not being properly maintained. Play it anyway, you won't regret it. Incredible views, red rocks makes it all worthwhile.
so awesome!
such an awesome course in one of the most beautiful setting in the world. the only reason I wouldn't recommend it to my friends is the cost of playing there normally. if you can afford it I would play there all the time.
Unlimited potential
It is a shame this course is in limbo with receivership as it needs some care and attention. Probably the most impressive course in AZ. The views are unmatched. Greens were a little beat up but consistent. Course design is excellent.
Nice scenery, but the course need attention
The scenery on the course is great. Don't forget your camera when playing this course. The course has a lot of up and downs but without clear indication of yardage making this course very difficult to play. The directions to various holes is not great too, any new comer will need some attention to find the tee boxes. There are no course map provided too, so just hit blind short by guessing. The fairways and green is not in its best shape. If tmanagement can maintain this course probably, put up better signagenwouldnmake this course a great one in Sedona. Now, It is more fun to play the Sedona Golf club.
THE most beautiful course I have EVER played!
Every hole was picturesque. Even though some of the holes were fairly challenging, the surrounding were a wonderful distraction to the balls lost in the cactus!
stunning views, very challenging, takes thoughtfulness
This course has some winter damage, but still plays very well. The greens were in decent shape, and very challenging. They are large with plenty of contour.. One of the treats of this course are the elevation gains and losses. None of the fairways are flat or straight. Thought must be given on where to place your shots. There are several holes that have barrancas crossing the fairway, and you must decide to lay up or go for it. There is not adequate signage for distances to the green. Very few sprinkler heads had markings, and the 200, 150 100 markers were hard to find. Judging the distance was not easy because of the elevation changes... Also there were several holes that were blind to the green.. the greens having a high front or a false front. Overall I would still highly recommend this course because of the challenges it presented,.
Scenic and well designed.
The greens were quite slow but I assume that they were intentionally left long due the winter climate. Providing drinking water would have been helpful. Maybe I misunderstood or maybe I'm blind but I didn't find yardage to the center of the green on the sprinkler heads. These items may be nit-picky but I'm sure you want input that can help enhance the experience. All in all, it was a most enjoyable round of golf.
Seven Canyons 2013
The course was in pretty good shape. The greens were really slow. All in all nice course.Would like to see greens putt the way greens are suppose to,Other courses in area have green set at about 10to 12
Picturesque setting, beautiful course
Beautiful course--wooded surroundings with some significant elevation changes. Set in a relatively remote area just north of Sedona among various magnificent red rock canyons.
Best course ever!
Easily the best course I have ever played. The greens were immaculate and the views were unbelievable. It was such a treat to play without feeling rushed and the weather was absolutely ideal.
Speechless
Best course I have ever played. Very difficult but definitely playable if you find the fairway off the tee. Views like no other. First time I have ever played and not really talked to my partner. What I'm saying is every hole you have to think & focus with no distractions.
