About Francisco Grande Hotel and Golf Resort
Francisco Grande Hotel and Golf Resort is a historic hotel, golf course and sports academy 45 minutes south of Phoenix-Scottsdale. The hotel and golf course is on the campus of Grande Sports World, a training destination for youth and national teams. The property was founded by Horace Stoneham, the owner of the San Francisco Giants, and opened in 1959. There is an outdoor pool and jacuzzi, while guest rooms are standard rooms and suite accommodations. The golf course was designed by Ralph Plummer and can stretch to over 7,500 yards from the championship tees.Facts

BKR Francisco
Course has under repair 17th hole etcetera but has improved since our last visit about a month ago.
Staff is great as always and very accommodating.
19th hole we ate lunch and this was good as usual. Nice day of golf overall.
First time at Francisco Grande
Great first round of the year. Landed a killer chip for birdie out of the sand trap on hole 5! Overall the course is fun and challenging. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens are just a bit spotty. I’d say the pace of play, calm feeling while out on the isolated course, and great weather make up for it all. Staff was very friendly and helpful, and the course has plenty of sand traps and water hazards to make it more of a challenge. Will be back.
Some areas were in rough shape but can’t complain about the price . We always enjoy this course ty

Played here a couple of weeks ago and it was good played yesterday and it was like a totally different golf course Greens were fair tea boxes were crap fairways were rough. Waiting for it to get in better condition before I think about driving 40 mi to play
Needs work
Some greens were bad an there was a lot of dirt instead of grass on some fairways, but it neither helped or hindered my golf.
Course is in terrible shape
From the fairways to the greens, the course is in very rough shape. It basically needs to close for a year to let the grass grow back in.

Somewhat Disappointing
This course in past has been in exceptional shape. It is not up to those standards anymore.

Course is in terrible shape
There is a reason it is so inexpensive. Fairways are patchy and in very bad shape. Greens are the same. This course needs to shut down for a year and let the grass come back.

Overall the golf course is in tough shape. With the lack of water from water supply line breaks, gopher holes, and greens that appear to have some type of fungal issue, play was effected y the conditions.
We like the course a lot but are concerned about the recovery work that is sorely needed.
Hello and thank you for your review from your recent round of golf. We realize the course is currently in substandard condition for the reasons you explained. We had two pumps stop working during over-seeding which led to the spotty conditions. The pumps have been repaired, and we are working diligently to get the course back up to par. Friendly staff
The course called and told me they had temp greens on 2 holes and would be reducing the pric3 to compensate for it. I was thrilled that they would do that on their own. Had a great day

Poor condition
Tee boxes terrible.
Fairways average at best.
Greens some dirt and some grass, very bumpy.
I enjoyed the layout very much.
