The Bugs were bad that day but great course to play and everyone enjoyed it. We would definitely recommend this course.
Great course
Third time playing in the past 11 days
Traveling from Peoria , tells you what I think of this course
Course opened after overseed October 28
Course conditions are really good now
Great course
Good range
Good short game area
Great layout
Over seeded cart path only
Greens roll true , a little slower than normal
Bunkers ok
One of my favorite courses - have played about 400 courses
Worth the drive
Fair price
Awesome Course
Fred Couples’ design is awesome ! My wife and I played on a day with bad weather, but we still thoroughly enjoyed it !
Great Course and staff
I come to Arizona 2-3 times a year and always make this course a must
Great layout
Great staff
Great value
Good range
Good short game
I work in the golf business (course that has held us opens and Ryder cup)
This is a first class operation
They just opened after overseed so cart paths only
Grass a little longer than usual due to overseed
I am staying in Peoria and will be here 2 weeks
Playing here 3 times
Tells you about the course
I have played close to 400 courses in my life
One of my favorites
A must play course when you are in the PHX area
I had seen this course listed many times for 100+ and I generally never pay that much for any golf ever so, when I saw a 80 round I had to try it. Great course, nicely laid out, very cool how both the 9 and 18 end up right in front of the 19hole. A bit more tougher than most and the only thing I could say wrong about this course is that the greens were a bit scarred up but, the Korn Ferry Q1 round just happened the week before so, I expect there were more GIRs than normal happening.
Course.not in the same condition as the last time played ! Bunkers are in bad shape fairways need a lot of tender love and care !
Nice course and wonderful staff but terrible condition
So, the course itself is decently designed, but there are traps on virtually every hole (in itself not a problem) but the traps are dirt for the better part with very little sand and hard as cement. Many had weeds growing around them or in them.
We played towards the end of the summer season, so I'm sure they were preparing for the overseed, thus the fairways were in pretty poor and hard pan shape overall.
Even though there is virtually no water hazards on the course (except the last hole) I got eaten alive by the mosquitoes which certainly put a damper on the round.
That being said, I played a good round consistent with my 7 handi, but the experience could have been better. One golf mag had this course rated as the 6th best in Arizona. Sorry not even close. Bang for the buck not there
2nd time around
Did not desapoint.
Nice course design, but touch greens.
Could not have more friendly staff.
Wife (less eeperienced) and I were a twosome booked with some experienced players. Starer managed to have us play in twosome starting earlier.
Great day.
Awesome experience
My 6th time playing here in the past 10 years and always fantastic. The staff were all very friendly. The course layout is masterful. The conditions were great. The cost is a bit high but very enjoyable. Worth the drive.
Great course
Previous reviews have noted the number of bugs when playing. I reduced the number by a few, but my legs are showing I didn't get them all. Bring bug spray. They have also noted that the bunkers (all 100+) are inconsistent in hardness of the sand, and are difficult. The locals I played with referred to at least one as being concrete.
Played in the afternoon after a lower end tour event, and course was being prepared for Korn Ferry Q school later in the week. Result was very firm greens, at a reasonable speed. Course was in great shape, with greens only a little brown in spots. Also had some pins in nasty spots.
The course design demands that you hit your approach shots a defined distance, as many of the greens are small, and the targets are shallow, with many greenside bunkers, or chipping areas.
I'll play again if in the area. It is about 1/2 hour from the airport, or an hour from north scottsdale on the south side of Phoenix metro.
Southern dunes
Great , challenging course. Greens in very good shape and rolled very well. Group got off course once even though a couple of us had played there before. Signage was hard to read.
Make the drive!
Me and my normal group of guys decided to head down to Maricopa to play this course. We have heard many things about it so we gathered that it would be a good experience for us. Boy were we right on the good experience! From the moment we hit the curb at the bag drop the staff was super friendly and we realized when we walked into the pro shop that This was a different kind of beast. The pro shop was well stocked full of items and everybody was super friendly. Once we got out on the course the starter gave us a full rundown on the course and that they watch piece of play. They said that all the teetimes are eight minutes apart so everybody has to golf at a good pace. This works very well for me and my friends because we are pretty quick players.
The course has a very friendly layout but not easy. There are plenty of sand traps to find yet they’re not in awkward positions. Everything is playable as long as you hit it in the right spots. The course was in fantastic condition, and the roof was in good shape as well. Around was four hours on the nose and we headed to their Grill for lunch. Here’s a professional tip, get the short rib grilled cheese sandwich oh my goodness. We had a few beers and called it a day and a success. I title this review make the drive because if you are 30 or 40 miles away, it’s worth it.
Awesome as per usual
This is by far my favorite course layout in the valley.
Everyone was exceptional from check in to the restaurant.
