Great day at Eagle Mountain! Photo submitted by uOQDZ5699OQ on 09/26/2012
First Class Service!
Eagle Mountain was a perfect place to host an event for 26 guys looking to do some golf, have amazing views, challenge the other groups, and meet new people.
A shuttle was offered for our 45 minute commute to and from the course, able to hold 10 guys plus clubs. This was something I would normally never take advantage of, but because of our numbers, we were able to utilize this convenience service!
The course was in great shape after having the greens punched just 4 weeks prior - fairways were green and full - and the sand was soft and forgiving!
I would recommend the course to anybody traveling to Arizona that wants to enjoy golf while surrounded by amazing views and gorgeous homes while being challenged by a course with undulating greens and multiple elevated greens and tee-boxes!
Arizona golf at its finest
First time on this track and loved it. Course was in great condition. Greens ran true and able to really hit down on the ball and take nice divots in the fairway. Extremely scenic with mountain views on every hole and lots of rabbits and roadrunners make for a different element... Just relocated from Georgia so not used to the wildlife yet. Will definitely take my guests from out of town to play here!
Great course
For this time of year course in excellent condition, staff extremely friendly. Will be back.
Great Track
Thoroughly enjoyed my time at Eagle Mountain. Will definitely be coming back.
Very nice design
I loved the design and shape of the holes. The greens are extremely difficult with a lot of curves and mounts. Thank god they are kept longer and slower because of the extreme heat. These greens must be treacherous when fast. Great course.
Not so good this time.
I have played Eagle Mountain before and loved it. It is truly one of my favorite courses. This time the fairways had not recovered from slit-seeding and top dressing the fairways. Iron shots from the fairway were very difficult due to the thin, sandy lies. Greens were also slow and a little bumpy. They had not recovered from being aeriated.
Still, I would play this course any time I had a chance.
Course Condition Only Fair
This is one of my favorite courses, but I found the greens not fully recovered from the punching and some fairways burned out. On the other hand the rough was very long and gnarly in spots. We had played this course about 3-4 weeks ago and it was in good shape then. With the gentle breeze the course was comfortable considering the 105 temperature. That's why we like to play it in the summer - there's always a nice breeze on this course.
Pace of play
I have never spent 5 hours to play 18 holes of golf during the summer. They had booked tee times every 4 mins. Awful! I would rather pay more money to have a shorter round during the heat.
Great Course
Very nice course the fairways are coming back nicely. Greens are very consistent and in very good condition. Play was very slow.
Too "mountainy"
The course was in poor condition and the elevation changes too severe for us. The staff was attentive and courteous.
Worth the Drive
Excellent views, plenty of challenge, and course was in great shape. Plenty of elevation change and greens putted very well - not too fast, not too slow.
Beautiful views, great layout, very challenging
I would play this course again anytime, very challenging and amazing views. Great rates in the summer and in excellent condition.
slooooow play
Usually the speed of play is "ok" but my last round was pathetic and stopped after playing 9 holes and got a 9 hole credit....there is no reason to wait on EVERY shot....move people along our get em out!!
Play for the views
We played right after a rare rain so it was Cart Paths Only which made an already challenging course even more difficult but the lower temperature was a relief. Round took 5 hours due to being CPO. This course was probably too difficult for me to expect a good scoring round but it is a beautiful course to play and the views are AMAZING! Greens were a challenge as well. Don't be too proud to move up to the shorter tees and just enjoy the views. Staff, starters, etc all were friendly and helpful.
eagle mountain monday
everything was very good, pin placements were tough with lots of sand but I like that, I don't like the hikes back to your cart from the greens but that's the way it is, was four over from the whites will be back next week if it a hot deal again
Get a good deal
I'm glad I got a really good deal because the conditions were a big disappointment. I had played Wekopa just before it and the conditions there were just perfect. The food and beverage inside were top notch, but not so much in the course. I would only play again for a really good deal or if the conditions were much better, it is a nice layout
Excellent course for the price
To be able to play Eagle Mountain for less than $50 and not have it be 110 out is fantastic. The course was in great shape. This course is not for a weekend warrior. The tee shots can be visually intimidating and the greens require proper placement of the approach shot. It is a fair course, but best played if your handicap is less than 20. Great course with great views. It is a desert course with few shade trees so bring plenty of water and sunscreen!
Very playable and nice vistas
Really enjoyed the top notch service and an enjoyable round of golf with great vistas! The course has very receptive fairways and the green surrounds and fairways are bowl shaped which keeps many wandering shots in play, however requires hiking back to your cart. The greens and tees were in excellent shape with moderate speed. Fairways were in transition to bermuda but generally in good condition.
Shame about the damage
The last time I played here was 9 years ago and it was top class unfortunately this time round was a shame as there was a lot of damage on the fairways which is in the process of being repaired but the club still charging top dollar to play. The greens are superb and the layout and views are second to none jut a shame about the fairways. Hopefully I will play again when the course is back to its best.
Course in rough shape
Fairways are not in good shape, many carved up , and others patched with sod. Greens were in good shape, bunkers were fair. Tee boxes fair. Too many other courses in the area at the same price that are in better condition.
