Great day at Eagle Mountain! Photo submitted by uOQDZ5699OQ on 09/26/2012
Excellent course, scenery and weather!
Only problem was pace of play (just under 5 hours). All else was excellent. Forgiving side hills bring errant shots back in play. Greens undulating and huge but in really great condition!
Beautiful but over priced
Great layout, spectacular views, friendly staff. Greens in excellent shape. However the fairways need work. The course had cut out numerous patches exposing raw dirt on the fairways. We were told by the starter that they were working on putting in new sod on a lot of the holes. Lots of GUR. We paid a good buck to play there so given the conditions you would have expected a reduced rate or some compensation. Pace of play was slow. We actually had a five-some(3 carts) in front of us for the first nine. On the turn we were expecting to grab a burger or a dog at their grill near the 10th tee box, but it wasn't staffed. After the round we wanted to have dinner there, but they were only serving appetizers off the menu. The course has great potential in giving you a real positive experience. I'm just not sure why in high season they would start major sod work and be short on kitchen staff. Having said that I would play the course again. It's a beautiful course. Maybe we just caught a bad day.
Super Bowl Weekend
Had a few friends in town for the Super Bowl and played Eagle Mountain. They wanted to play a scenic course and I took them out there. Had a great time and enjoyed the course. The greens were in great shape and tricky. A few fairways were in rough shape but the course was great overall.
Greens are PERFECT!
This course has some of the best views around! Greens were absolutely perfect but they have some issues with the fairways. I asked the Ranger what had happened and he told me they have a water quality issue. Staff was really friendly and helpful too.
Great Day of Golf
We had a great day out at Eagle Mountain. The course is in nice condition and the staff is very friendly.
Greens were OK but fairways were wet and torn up in lots of places. Course was not in very good shape for the money we paid.
Course was wet and not in good shape. Greens were OK but not great. I wouldn't recommend this course. Poor value for the money.
Eagle Mountain
Greens were fast and true, tee boxes in great shape. Fairways were awful. Lots (LOTS) of GUR and bare spots. Disappointed in fairways for this time of year and price of course.
Nice course but overpriced.
Beautiful views of the mountains but the brown grass in the rough was disappointing. Paid over $150 with taxes on GolfNow and found out the person golfing with us booked on Birdie Bug for $68.
Thank you for taking the time to review Eagle Mountain Golf Club. The comment regarding Birdie Bug comes up occasionally and wanted to clarify why the other player in your group only paid $68. Birdie Bug is not only a tee time provider but they also manage a call center that currently handles phone calls for multiple properties including Eagle Mountain. As payment for their services Birdie Bug receives 1-2 tee times per day (varies by course) that they can sell at whatever rate they choose. Once the tee times are sold they are required to sell the remainder of times at the same rate we post for all players. I realize it’s still frustrating to pay a higher rate but wanted you to know why the other player received a lower rate.
Not worth the aggravation.
slow slow and slower and management doesn't, care. Spend your money somewhere else.
Any enjoyable day
A course that is made to satisfy a highly skilled player and one that has a difficult time directing the path of the golf shot. The peripheral quality of many holes corrects for mistakes in driving and wayward shots.
Must play Scottsdale Course
Beautiful views and a real joy to play. This is a must play course in Scottsdale with a friendly staff and the course was in great condition. Highly recommend.
Nice course
Fun to play , up and down hills and undulating greens are always a challenge !
Great views
My partner and I had a great time playing this course. I would recommend this as a must play. We finished in 4 1/2 hours, but can be done in less time.
We had a group of 4 men in front of us, that played like it was the U.S. Open!!!!(They played like a bunch of old ladies on a Sunday stroll)( Sorry Ladies). We waited at least 5 minutes on every tee box. We even saw them watching us hit approach shots into a few holes.
Fairways need work
A very nice golf course with excellent greens and wonderful views, but the fairways were in poor condition. Would definitely return when fairways are better.
Course condition
Fairways are the worst I have ever experienced in the Valley. I played the Boulders, South; Blackstone and Gainey Ranch over the New Year week and all were beautiful. I was very disappointed in the condition of this course. We have played it before and have never seen conditions like this.
Fun at Eagle Mountain
This was my first time playing this course. The staff were all incredibly helpful and friendly. The course was still in the process of recovering from overseeding so it wasn't in perfect condition, but considering that I would say it was in great shape for the deal they gave us. Probably my favorite course I have played in Arizona so far since moving here in June.
beautiful layout
Nice layout. Course plays fairly easy and is not to long. condition of the fairways was not very good. Not sure why. Overall experience was good and the layout and views are very nice
great staff. wet spots in fairway. greens were hard ,but fair.
I liked the large greens with different levels. Course had good variety. Staff was prompt and helpful.
Great Track
Besides of being a great course and conditions for the Season...it can only be surpassed by the great staff and Hospitality. Very clean facilities.
Keep it up guys,
Al Teles
In bad shape
Fairways are in bad shape, greens are healthy but slow. Might want to wait a few months before playing here
Thank you for your review of Eagle Mountain Golf Club. I’m sorry we didn't meet your expectations and also wanted to apologize for the fairway conditions that you mentioned. Due to the exorbitant price of water in Fountain Hills the local courses are forced to use reclaimed water, which is extremely high in salt and not ideal for establishing the lush winter fairway grasses we are accustomed to. The Superintendent and his staff are working tirelessly to improve the fairway conditions. We appreciate your support of Eagle Mountain and wanted you to know that we are doing everything possible to remedy these issues.
