Great day at Eagle Mountain! Photo submitted by uOQDZ5699OQ on 09/26/2012
Tough course to play.
We played on a tough golf day, 40mph winds and dusty air so my experience was not quite true to the course. Very challenging and not forgiving on arrant shots. Greens were hard to stick and needed grooming; they were inconsistent, some fast, some slow and some were both.
Very fun golf course
Staff was great. A lot of the reviews say the course is too hard. Actually the fairways are very generous. A lot slope back into the fairway. I thought it was as fair if not fairer than most courses down here. Good layout. Fun to play.
This course is beautiful
Fun to play, and great views. Fairways were In great condition.
Gorgeous location
I've played here before, but the greens weren't really green - the difficulty was high ( I do like a challenge but the complaints from the other 3 golfers was not enjoyable), the burgers were fabulous, the staff friendly, had to wait for bag drop...I just played Firerock and Silverleaf - they were A++
Excellent golf course.
A beautiful golf course. Tough greens. Would play here again in a heart beat.
Beautiful view but course conditions are not up to their normal standards.
Poor fairways and inconsistent greens.
Beautiful course but condition of the course was poor.
At this time I could not recommend this course to a friend.
In the past I have really enjoyed the course.
Amazing views!
The entire staff was very friendly and helpful. The course was challenging, but playable. For being a first-timer out to Scottsdale, this is what I expected golf in the desert to be like. I would definitely return and tee it up again!
Very challenging. Greens are very difficult. Excellent condition.
Greens are very difficult to read with complicated breaks. I would especially suggest this course to accomplished players. This is one of the finest layouts in the valley, and rank it in my top ten in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. The staff is very friendly. The course is substantially more difficult than the average, but very scenic, and well maintained.
Not a course for the average golfer
This is a difficult course that has undulating greens that measure around 12 for speed. The result is an extremely frustrating round for golfers with a handicap over 12. This combined with the healthy greens fees made this course a poor choice for the average golfer and why I would not recommend it. If you are a single digit hc be prepared for a five hour plus round. If you have the time I will say this is a well maintained course that has some fantastic views.
Desert Golf at it's finest!
I chose Eagle Mtn to host midwest business visitors to a desert golf experience. I knew Eagle Mtn had great conditions and unique views and vistas. The visitors loved it and seemed to bring out their cameras every other hole. The tee box options accomodated the hackers and the low handicappers. Conditions were great. Excellent value for the experience!
True desert course
Took a very important client to Eagle Mounain and the course, staff, facility restaurant, etc did not disappoint!
Great course layout and great views.
The course is challenging but fair . it was in very good shape ,fairways bunkers and greens all extremely nice to play on. The views around the course are quite picturesque and add to the course`s appeal ! We felt that this was one of the best courses we played on during our stay in Arizona and would recommend it to anyone looking to play a higher end course.
nice
Nice lay out, Take a pictures. demanding but fair. Green where rolling nicely be prepaired for wind
Well maintained
Lovely course, well maintained. Good course for women. Can have some wind on elevated tees. We were first off at 7:55. Course can be busy. Recommend early tee times. Well stocked pro shop, better prices for the area.
very playable course
good shape for winter conditions.
wide open
not difficult
fun toplay
Fantastic views and player friendly.
Eagle Mountain is one of the prettiest courses in the valley. However not for anyone with a disability as it is a mountain course with steep hills to climb up to tees and down to greens. The play was slow and we never saw a marshall on the course to speed up play. Course condition was very good but the overseed hasw not completely taken as of mid-January.
This golf course,IMO, is very , very ,highly overated for the price.
I will not return at Eagle Mountain untill the price comes down and the fairway conditions are improved. There has been an obvious lack of maintenance on the golf course. We have played other courses in the area that were in much better condition and for a lesser price. They do though, as claimed, have a couple nice scenic holes that are very fun to play.
Excellent Condition all around
Excellent course. Beautiful views. A little too pricey. Curtious employees and very friendly. Would play this course again while the snakes are dormat.
Every shot was fun to hit
Absolutely gorgeous views with great golf. Very playable as most fairways slope to the middle and are forgiving. Greens were a moderate pace but full of rolling hills that makes for a difficult short game. Very serious low handicappers will not face many challenges but an awesome course to play for the majority of golfers. Will be back again!
Solid Shape Post Seeding; Greens Furry
Course is in really good shape - tee boxes, fairways, very lush and well maintained. Friendly staff, keep the pace quick - we were 4 hours solid with one in our group on the red tees....but the greens were awful - hadnt been trimmed in a couple weeks...suppose that's the strategy with seeding, but forget about touch putting...you had to crush the ball to move it along.....and for the 2 - 3 footers you were subject to a stray blade of grass....regardless, it's a great course for the money.
