Great Logo
Course is amazing with great views. Pro shop is outstanding. Best logo in Arizona
Worth a visit!
I played this course in late January. A frost delay was in effect but once we got going there was little to no delay or slowness to the round. A course marshal encouraged everyone to play ready golf and keep the pace up and it showed. The course was in great shape and was very playable for all handicap levels. The driving range, pitching, and putting areas were also in good shape and plenty of room for all to warm up. The restaurant, snack bar, and pro shop were also very nice. Accessible bathrooms and water around the course. Great experience--would definitely play again.
Camelback (Ambiente) -Wicked Nice
First time playing Camelback and the Ambiente course did not disappoint. Other than a frost delay, the course and the day was perfect. Links style course that can be very challenging if the wind picks up. Course conditions were very, very nice. I'd recommend this course to everyone.
Camelback-Abiente after significant rain
I played Camelback-Abiente for the first time on January 2nd, 2023. I was fortunate that the course was open as there had been a tremendous amount of rain the previous two days. There was flooding on the course but it was still playable. The greens held up incredibly well. My ratings on the course conditions reflect the weather. I am sure if it was a normal day, my rating would have been Excellent. I would play this course, again, and would recommend it to a friend.
Over priced for the value
Played sand course ;5 days ago and was in much better shape and half the cost
Vanilla. Good, but still vanilla
Let's start with the good ...
Pace of play was excellent. I played here with my son who is a hack at best and we finished in 4:10 during a cart path only round. Greens were very good and rolled true the entire round. The restaurant food was excellent and all the staff was very friendly.
The "Meh" ...
The starter began by telling us wonderful things about the architects that built a course that doesn't drain very well. Ok, it's Arizona and that's likely not important. The course is completely unremarkable and I believe overpriced for the layout. I played at Raven, Verrado, Southern Dunes and Raven this week and each course had holes/shots that were memorable. Camelback is totally forgettable.
Please understand that this does not mean it's a bad course, it's just very vanilla and the day after playing it I can't think of a single hole that made me go "wow" or recall it later. My son agreed as did the other twosome, (they played Phoenician prior), that there's nothing special here. Just regular golf with excellent greens but I don't think it justifies the price.
I'd play here again if I wasn't paying but would play other courses instead.
Nice Course
Although due to rain in the morning, some areas were flooded
Just did not fit my game very well. Go right off the tee going to be a long day. Large bunkers in play on every hole.
Excellent experience
This is an expensive course, but overall experience was excellent. Conditions excellent overall; greens were good, but really sandy and seemed like they used green dye to make them appear more green (golf ball would pick up green sand/grass)
If you are looking for a great resort golf experience you won’t be disappointed
