Disappointed
We did not know the (18) hole course had only (9) holes available. Range was not open. This time it was disappointing and would have selected a different course if we were advise of the course condition. We would not recommend at this time. We played prior and liked the course otherwise.
Best Executive Course
This delightful course is fun, scenic, and in great shape. Mostly par threes, it can be demanding at times requiring good distance control and a sharp short game. The greens were dynamic, rolled well, and guarded by many well placed bunkers making it a fun challenge for good players. The immaculate fairways and mostly open areas make it a great place for beginners as well. I had no crowds, but played on a weekday. It's rare to find an executive that is in great shape and so much fun to play.
curse beauty
it is always a pleasure to play this beautiful course with magnificent views. the staff is always friendly and helpful. although this is an executive course it isn't eaasy.
Not your typical executive course
Great mix of holes, from short to long. Green complexes and pin positions made this a very challenging round. We enjoyed it so much, we went back the next day and played 36. Can't say enough about the friendliness of the staff, totally awesome.
The only negative I can say, is the tees leave a lot to be desired for levelness. There are considerable humps in all of the tees.
Great Views
First time playing here. It was a fairly challenging exec course, although only 2 par 4's, and one of them was only 210 yds. But the views and course layout were great. It only took our foursome 2 1/2 hours to play 18. Great little gem.
Mountain Shadows - Challenging Foe!
Mountain Shadows will be the site of my son's 1st Tee tournament in July. We decided to play a practice round to get to know the course and quickly discovered Mountain Shadows is a challenging foe!
Initially, my idea of playing an executive course wasn't something I was looking forward to until I heard that PGA Tour pros' play this course each winter and are lucky to break par.
The course was a rigorous test of steady and consistent shot making within a narrow fairway and course layout. We loved the challenge and the course required careful analysis, and thought provoking shot making.
The only disappointing parts of the experience were trying to play/concentrate while maintenance workers were running their loud machinery at every shot. Que comprendo? The play of some golfers were slower than turtles. Was thankful to have talk time with my son while the play was super slow.
Kudos to the group of 3 senior ladies who played ahead of us who were "ready golf girls" who reminded me of my grandmother and were hard to keep up with cause they played so quickly. Loved it! Next time we will try the refreshments, food and 19th hold features.
We will definitely be returning to this gem!
great little course
This was a perfect course to have my 7 yr old daughter play her first full round from tee to green.
I was a little disappointed that they had no food and beverage service on course or in the club house.
Don't anyone about this great course!
Let's keep it for ourselves, fantastic course in a great location.
Nice executive course
Mountain Shadows is a very scenic, fun par 3 course with two short par 4's. You'll get a lot of excellent practice with all of the wedges and plenty of 160 yard shots to pretty small greens. The fairways, traps and greens are all in nice shape. The starter was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. I played in under two hours and hit lots of extra shots. It's just a nice, unpretentious place and provides great short game practice. My girlfriend is a beginner and Mountain Shadows will be perfect for her.
Great value
Friendly staff
Nice facilities
Terrific service
Excellent course conditions
Beautiful views
All around excellent experience and I recommend this course to all my friends.
Nice Par-3
Nice Par-3 course in North-Central Phoenix. Would play again if interested in playing a par-3 course. Had some nice views, but also several areas under repair, etc., that changed the course a bit from its intended layout.
Happy Father's Day
I couldn't have asked for a better morning for my dad! No one behind us to rush us and the people in front of us were enjoying their father's day like we were!
Beautiful course
Course was tough for me, because my long irons are a little off, but it was fun. The people where great and the price was good.
Great Course
Great course to get a quick round, I play there often.
Disappointed
Bad experience. Upon arrival, I was informed there would be no beverage cart and that I would need to purchase drinks from the bar so that "I did not die on them." Three different times I was putting, and some other groups ball rolled up on my green. When I reached 14, there were 4 groups at the teebox waiting to hit. I walked off at that point.
Will not be going back...
Amazing views
This was an amazing course to play. Used almost all my irons and great slopes on those greens. Will be back ASAP.
Something is missing.
Wow, what a great course. However, this course will never be the same. Major demolition was done on the resort. All of the buildings have been removed. All in all, there are still spectacular mountain views from every hole.
Never again.
This course plays like a pitch and putt. All you need is a nine iron and a putter. I was over charged on my credit card !
BIll
we were the first off on this day and we completed the course in 2 1/2 hrs great weather.
Great short course excellent value
Great for short game
I played the back tees at just over 3000 yards. My wife played the red ladies tees. We were a twosome and finished in 2 1/2 hours and even waited for the slower twosome ahead of us on a few holes. I usually play a men's league at a nearby course but we wanted a quick round and I wanted to practice my short game. This course delivered on both counts. It's a great course. The greens are not easy but roll true. The staff was great. We had complimentary chips and salsa in the bar afterwards along with margaritas. A great finish to a great day. Definitely will be back. Course conditions are above average and better than some other nearby "championship" courses.
