Good for the Short Game
Mountain Shadows is a petite Par 3 course tucked inside of a resort and residential area. The resort is being torn down and apparently will be rebuilt at sometime, but it has no effect on play at the course.
The course is 17 par 3s and 1 par 4 with small greens and no long shots. Playing the mid-tees, you may never unsheathe a wood if you're not a hacker. Though you have a lot of 80 to 130 yard shots, you can get a lot of work on your short game as hitting the greens isn't easy due to their size.
The course is in nice shape and the staff is friendly. If you're a single, you'll probably get paired up with some people who are just out for fun, so there will be no pressure.
I find it's an excellent place where you can go play 18 in a little over two hours during twilight hours. Add in the beauty of Camelback Mountain, that dominates the view, and a sundown round is a pleasure.
I'll certainly tee it up there again.
Great course
We had fun it was a good day for playing golf good view good greens
Scenic
A nice course with great scenery at the base of Camelback Mountain. A short but challenging exec course. Overall a narrow course, easy to lose balls.
Great executive course
Great course to sharpen your iron play. Beautiful setting and challenging course.
LA at Rush Hour
This is an excellent executive par 3 course in the heart of Paradise Valley. The course conditions were excellent, the views were spectacular, but the pace of play was horrendous. This was a Sunday afternoon with a tee time of 3:20 pm. I ventured out with the thought of working on my iron play, expecting I would have the course nearly to myself. Wrong!! Play was so backed-up that it became more akin to a "walk in the park" chatting with the Canadian couple I was joined with than a round of 9-hole golf. I spent more time hearing about this nice couple's lives and careers and plans while waiting 10 plus minutes at each tee box for the foursomes ahead of us to play on, than anything about my iron game. I was so unfocused and out of rhythm by the time i got to hit at each hole that I never found my stroke the entire round. Oh well, I'll just reserve this course for the dead of summer when its 110 in the shade and no one willing to endure the heat.
Great Day
A friend and I had not golfed for some time and thoroughly enjoying this course. The staff was very friendly, no waiting on the range or putting green and 18 holes in three hours
Golf experience
Cute coarse, mostly short par3s in really nice condition.
Staff were not friendly and very arrogant, apparently
Did not think a $5.00 tip to clean my clubs was enough.......
Great executive course
Great condition on a great little course. Strategic bunkers are the challenging par of this well maintained course
Great challenging course with awesome views!
We play this course periodically and always enjoy it. The fairways are narrow so target shooting is definately a goal.
great little executive course
people who work there very friendly and helpful. course in great condition for a par 3 course. greens running smooth and consistent. will play there again if the price is right.
Garden par 3
Really enjoyed this little par 3 course. It also had 2 short par 4's. Great facility to sharpen up your short game. The course was very cozy, set against Camel Back Mtn. A little brook ran through the back 9 that really made the visual. I saw at least a dozen rabbits that didn't hop off until two or three feet away. A couple of holes over water didn't get into my head as much as other courses because of the calming effect of the scenery. Grass was lush, water was clear and clean, and greens properly maintained. Will play this course many times to come! Good show, Marriott!
Great mountain views from every hole
Best kept secret in town! When I take people there old and young,we all enjoy playing this nice exe. Course.
Another enjoyable day
Always great fun here. Staff is terrific, course is fun, great time!
mountain shadows
This executive course was a blast to play on ..fun and challenging me and my buddy had a great time there!!! I'd recommend this course to anyone I know who plays thanks
great executive course for the money
I have played this course several times and it is always in GREAT shape. It is a great value and enjoyable with awesome views.
Small Course Big Appeal
I've played Mountain Shadows several times and always enjoy the course and the staff. Typically a lesser price than other courses during high season but never disappointing. The course was in great shape and although it is small, it has it's tough shots. A great pace that lets you key in on your short game.
Beautiful course
First time playing here and right off the bat we hit the putting green only to be putting next to Larry Fitzgerald and Patrick Peterson of the Cardinals, once we got going it was a totally fun and relaxing time with an amazing view. Very easy to play with amazingly fast greens.
Fun
This is a beautiful little course that is always fun to play. A great way to work on your short game.
Great Course
Greens were perfect and fast.
One day they'll level the tee boxes a bit more.
But fun course.
Fun to play
Long time valley course. With par being 56 it is a great text for low and high handicaps.
