Terrible greens
So not worth the price I paid, the greens are all spotty, they should definitely lower the price until they get it back to playing condition
Enjoyable golf course.
If you book your Tee times at the Orange Tree resort you will be assured you’re getting the cheapest rate. Double check your rates at GOLFNOW booking when you reserve.
Corse in poor shape
Orange tree is one of our go to courses when we winter in Scottsdale. This is the first time the course was in bad shape. Many of the greens had bald/bare spots. Over watering caused a small pond in front of a par 3. Just disappointing The staff was in fine form as usual.
The greens were in horrible condition!!
It appeared that the fairways and especially the greens had not been taken care of.
Greens have a disease unplayable
These are the worst greens I’ve ever seen in playing golf for 50 years. Nobody said anything before I signed up for the round and then when I got there, they said the greens were pretty bad. But they were not pretty bad. They were awful. They should give people their money back and warn them before that the greens are not potable whatsoever until the disease is fixed.
Not worth the money
greens are in terrible shape, course is wet, muddy, sorry not going back
I understand there is work at the club. I get that
However the greens have been lost. The worst i have seen. I play on greens that have been recently punched and they were better. It seems to me they need to be totally re done. Sorry to say but there was actually had more wet green sand then grass
You got a real issue
Bad shape
Course was in very bad shape. Greens had a lot of dead grass and fairways all had dead grass. Pretty boring layout with old style of bunkers in landing zones and protecting greens. Much better options in the area.
Resort Course? NOT!!!!!!!
This course is a dumpster fire right now. They should pay us to play the darn place. The greens were a disgrace. The was no warning on the website. The fact that they charged $100 was like stealing money.
I used to live in the area. I moved away 20 years ago. This used to be a great course in the middle of Scottsdale. Stay away! Stay far away.
Terrible Greens
Tee times reserved via Golf Now. No disclosure about substandard green conditions on resort website. I've played substandard greens in the Phx area before, and the golf courses have been transparent and value-conscious. Not Orange Tree, they told me the greens had 'pinprick' aeration marks, totally downplayed the actual condition. The actual condition appears to be from disease and/or catastrophic chemical reaction. To add to the suffering, tee boxes were poorly repaired and not in top condition. So I paid 'winter season resort rate', regardless. I've enjoyed playing this course over many years as an out-of-state visitor. Never again.
Bad Greens
The course appears to have lost much of the green on about two-thirds of the holes; it was rolled dirt sprayed green. AND they neither advised us in advance nor discounted the rate. Don't trust them.
I had played a few years ago
The greens were awful, bald spots. They were absolutely terrible. I paid $85. for a quality course? No way. It was awful!!
It will be a long time before I consider playing Orange Tree again, especially at $85. for a greens fee!!!!!
Decent Course
Overall, nice course and great staff. The greens are a little suspect in spots, but overall played okay. I got a hot deal which made the price a little more tolerable. Prices in AZ this time of year have gotten out of control, but you pay for the weather rather than just the golf. I would still go back here if the price is a hot deal.
Nice place, the course layout was good too. The course due to lack of rain was not in primo/130 per round shape. The greens were in fair to poor shape too. The food, staff and amenities was very nice. I would say the place needs some TLC, to bring it back to its glory days.
Affordable and decent course
Pro shop staff were great. Starter was grumpy!
Two groups playing a scramble in front of were slow and we did not see the player assistant on 16!
