Great fun.
The starter missed my tee time. Other than that, it was great fun.
Overall fantastic course
Was in town with some friends for an extended weekend and played here on a Thursday. Overall this was probably my favorite course that we played (I also played Camelback, Papago, Talking Stick, and TPC Scottsdale). The course was in great shape when we played, a bit wet in the morning but dried out really nicely in the afternoon. The staff were super friendly, someone loaded our bags into our cart before the round and cleaned them after. The range was solid, decent balls, and had bunker practice if you wanted it. Pace of play was a bit slow, especially on the back because of two groups that had coupled up to play as an 8 (which I'm guessing they were not supposed to do). Only real criticism of the course is that the bunkers got really dry and hard in the afternoon but I'm guessing this is a common problem for warm weather golf courses and they were beautiful in the morning.
Beautiful
Just an outstanding course and the staff were super friendly. We will definitely return.
What a find! Incredible desert/mountain golf course.
The views are amazing. The course is in superb shape. The layout is fun and super-enjoyable. But first you actually have to know how to get there. If you follow the signage and drive into the course, you encounter a sign in the middle of the road that says "If you have a tee time, turn around and go back out to the highway and turn left to the resort." So you're baffled, but you turn around and go back to the highway, turn left, and drive a short ways to a very small sign that says Hilton. Right inside on your left is the clubhouse. You park and drive a golf cart from there to the course. It's weird, and a bit off-putting. You'll start to question your decision to play here. BUT don't worry. The course itself is definitely amazing. The first six holes are pretty easy. Then it gets more fun and progressively more difficult as you work your way up to the peak...and then back down. It is NOT a parkland course. It's carved out of the desert and plays up and down the ravines. Some greens have a lot of break but not like some courses where you aim for 6 feet of break and it breaks 14 feet and runs off the green and down a hill. (I hate those.) Overall, I can't recommend this highly enough. The par 4 10th hole, with its 14-story drop from the tee to the fairway, is one of the most fun I've ever played. Final comment: EVERY SINGLE staff member I encountered...from the pro shop to the starter to the cart guys... were incredibly friendly.
Best course we played out of 10
We absolutely loved Lookout mountain! Conditions were fantastic challenging layout that was beautiful to take in. We played 10 courses in 11 days and it was by far the standout !! One of the best price points ($125) for a course that feels like a $200+ track.
It didn’t hurt that I scored well - but highly recommend searching for deals
Even after the downpour, the course was in great shape
Rain started at 5 am and stopped at 11. The course drained really well. Boxes, fairways and greens were well maintained. There weren't many players so the course was a breeze.
I really enjoyed the day and would recommend for all skill levels
Started out bad with the pro shop
Arrived early for my rime. The pro shop gentleman whom I paid wanted to be anywhere but there. The giys at the starters was fantastic. The course is ok but pricey for the layout. Again get new staff in the pro shop as he set the tone for the whole day.
Incredible
Amazing course layout. Thinkers course. You have to be creative and find the landing spots. Fast greens, stay below the hole. Bring your phone many vista points. This will be in our rotation!
Arizona golf experience.
Excellent course, a true example of desert mountain golf. Very playable, amazing views, course was in great shape!
