Lookout Mountain Golf Club at Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort receives distinctions: Golf Digest placed it among the top 450 U.S. public courses, and it regularly features among Arizona's best 25 golf course. It doesn't hurt that the golf club regularly hosts eye-catching affairs like the Harmon Killebrew Invitational, the Royce Clayton Charity Classic and the Phoenix Suns Scramble. The golf course itself offers lush greens that entwine with the Sonora Desert's terrain, which the golf club says it carefully preserves, and features 18 holes of championship golf in tandem with magnificent scenery and plenty of challenges.

There's a fairly good chance that golfers will catch sight of a quail or coyote out on the Lookout Mountain Golf Club at Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort, and management asks that layers give the critters the right of way. In order to ensure golfers' shots go straight and don't snag in a cactus or chuckwalla, the club offers both individual and group glf lessons. This is also a place to enroll in the Hilton Golf Academy.

That's before the round at the Lookout Mountain Golf Club, though: Afterward, mosey on back to the 19th hole, called the Pointe In Tyme, for the drinkables and eatables.

Nice to play a course with some elevation in Phoenix!

I was pleasantly surprised by the course. Fairly wide fairways. Greens In good condition. Not a walkable course due to a vast distance between holes. Will play again !

Great fun course

All good things about this course, very pretty scenery and the fairways were very green. Some holes you need to be pretty accurate on your tee shot and if not you will lose some balls but I had a great time!

Thirsty

Look out Mountain is always a fun place to play, the course wasn’t in the best condition but it’s transitioning from spring to summer. It was a slow day so the pace was fast about three hours and 20 minutes to play 18. Only problem was the drink cart lady decided she would go home after us seeing her one time on the front and with the halfway house closed and the cart girl not mentioning that she was leaving and it being 108° outside made for a really uncomfortable back nine. This is a highly rated resort and the hospitality was just not there. Resort management needs to check up on their Golf staff. unacceptable.

Not worth the money. Too pricey and they don’t even have GPS. Say it’s cause the mountain but that’s a lie as they used to. Not worth the price. Play raven

OVER-RATED

Was very disappointed in the course conditions for a course that was supposed to be top rated! A lot of unsightly sandy areas (not desert), burned out fairways and rough greens. Then they allowed 2-some, single, and another 2-some in a row, and we waited 10 mins between shots…. took forever. However, the entire staff was very nice & professional!

For the money, this course couldn’t hold a candle to Las Sendas, Whirlwind, Legend Trail, Longbow, etc. Definitely go to any of these before here! IMO

Slow play

I play this course at least two or three times a month. Really enjoy the layout and overall condition. Another beautifully maintained Troon managed course. What is frustrating is about every third round turns into five hours. Ran into a Marshall just once on hole number five and asked him what the holdup was and he said it was moving at lightning speed. 4 hours and 45 minutes later we finished. Never saw the Marshall again after the fifth hole.

Pace of play was ok. Problem was we were a 2-some playing behind a four-some that at times had 2 holes open in front of them. Overall a very enjoyable round and experience.
