Very Slow
Had a hard time thinking of what kind of review I wanted to write.
First,
The course is in great condition, greens are very fast, and the marshalls, starter, cart girl, pro shop, and the whole crew were all very helpful.
Parking here sucks! You have to share the parking lot with the hotel. Depending on the time of day, parking lot is full. Was told there was some kind of construction, which caused the issues.
Time of play, speaking of today. Very slow! We teed off at 12:40, after the front nine we were doing ok. Played the front nine at 2hrs and 20 minutes. However the back nine was backed up. Had to wait about ten minutes on each hole. By the time we got to the 15th hole, it was 4:30. And it was backed up with two groups in front of us waiting. We decided to pack it in, and call it a day. I'll come back in the summer when it's less crowded and cheaper.
I still had a great time, can't wait to hit this course again.
Just..wow
I’ve played all of the big name courses in AZ. First of all, I challenge you to find a course in better shape than Lookout in July. Second, this place could easily get away with charging 2-3x as much. Get dialed in through 6 because the middle 9 will test everything you’ve learned in the game of golf. Quick/true greens and narrow fairways. I used to play AZ Grand every week because it’s close, but now I pay $25 Uber each way just to play here. Sounds ridiculous, but I’ve fallen in love with Lookout Mountain.
Pace always quick and they don’t overbook. Worth the drive from wherever you are. I’d be more than happy if this were the only course I could play for the next year.
Great course and great staff!
Being a local in the area this is one of my personal favorites. I would highly recommend for any golfer!
DesertClub,

Lookout Mountain - Great Experience
First time playing this course after having wanted to play it for a while. Great time. Range balls are included in tee time and are readily available at the range. Pro shop/cart staff were very cool and welcoming.
Layout is tough but fair and challenges you to make good shots and club selections. Course conditions were excellent -- maybe only 2 "dead spots" on all fairways throughout course. Back 9 was more challenging to me overall than the front 9 -- overall, if you are a mid-tier player (think low 90s scoring on average), be prepared to lose some balls. No water in play until Hole 15, which has a lake on the left of the fairway (make a good choice off the tee w/ your club).
The holes I remember most are No. 9 (an extremely short Par 3 that only requires a wedge to hit the green but be wary if you come up short, as the hill is extremely steep and your ball will roll off) and No. 10 (an extremely elevated tee box that requires a skillful tee shot to get the fairway).
All in all, highly recommend. Just as a note to first time players, the pro shop is at the entrance to the Pointe Hilton hotel that the course is a part of, not the entrance that Apple/Google Maps takes you to.
BrettMurdock,
Thank you for taking the time to review Lookout Mountain Golf Club! We appreciate your candid review about the golf course and it's layout. While not long, by today's standards, the course does challenge you throughout the round, especially holes 7-14. We are happy you found the course to be in excellent shape and we look forward to seeing you again!
Enjoyed
Interesting layout in decent conditions for this time of year. Greens were especially good - fast and receptive. Terrific elevation changes with great views. Very different than most courses in the valley.
Only trouble was the 114 degree heat!!
Thank you for taking the time to review Lookout Mountain Golf Club. We are happy that you enjoyed the layout and scenery the golf course provides, as well as finding the greens to be in good condition. We look forward to seeing you again!
Really fun course!
No complaints, low cost, nice course, I guess I could ask why there was no screen on the cart? Fun round!

Fun track
Always wanted to try this course. It's a little dated here and there but overall a good experience. Staff was great! Course seems more like an old school muni than a resort to me. Course conditions were typical summer in the desert. I will definitely play here again.
ddvader11,

Good as always
Played this course for a few years during this time of the year.
Excellent condition for greens, bunkers, and fairways.
Some tee boxes are burnt, and a little slower of play then usual.
Definitely recommend this place.
Randyta55,

Fantastic
First, let me mention the guys at the bag drop. Usually this is an forgettable experience, but the guys who welcomed me were super upbeat, welcoming, and seemed genuinely interested in my experience. Side note: I hope the afternoon employees share tips with the morning guys. The afternoon folks were good, but I left a solid tip hoping they were shared with the gentleman I encounter before my tee time. Anyhow, the course was in excellent shape, without the thousands of gallons of water than have been on other courses the past 30 days. It was dry, green, and the ball was running out, just as it should be in the middle of summer in the desert. Great experience beginning to end.
