About Quintero Golf Club

Quintero Golf Club, located about an hour northwest of Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, is one of the most scenic golf courses in the Valley of the Sun. While generally a daily-fee course, it does have a small handful of casita rentals for stay-and-play packages. These casitas, located within the community's Entrada properties, feature two large bedrooms with full bathrooms each, and a private patio with the option for outdoor dining. The executive Loft has a large living area with pool table. Guests have access to the Quintero pool, jacuzzi and grilling area. Located in the Hieroglyphic Mountains, Quintero Golf Club was designed by Rees Jones and is a popular pick for the best golf course in the valley. Within 15 minutes is the Lake Pleasant Marina and Scorpion Bay Marina.

Over-Aggressive Ranger Spoiled Otherwise Perfect Day

Beautiful course, beautiful day. Play moved along at a decent pace. We had two women in our foursome, both decent golfers, but they had to hit 3 or 4 times on the long par 4s and par 5s, so it took a little longer. The ranger talked to us 4 or 5 times, told us there were 2 holes open in front of us. When we saw the group ahead in the fairway on #10, I mentioned it to him and he said there were 2 holes open in front of them. We played as fast as we could without just totally ruining our round. I'm an 8 hdcp and the other guy was probably a 12. We hit some balls in the junk but we didn't even look for them. We did everything we could to move our play along, and we were at least a hole ahead of the group behind us, and yet the ranger followed us around and cautioned us several times to speed it up. I travel and play a lot of top golf courses, and that is the most inappropriate treatment I have ever received. The rest of the staff was excellent and the course is excellent; I highly recommend it. However, be prepared to play at a pace faster than this difficult course allows.

very nice

This is a very nice Reese Jones course. It is very playable and challenging if you play the right tees. First time there, get the cheat sheet for playing tips. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. The only draw back is the price. Yes it is a very nice course, but cost made me rate the "value for the money" lower. Especially for the length of drive to get there.

Picturesque and challenging.

The course has many interesting holes with tees in truly unique locations and challenging approaches to greens. Staff are helpful and while off-course facilities are adequate, the course makes the journey worthwhile. Value is good but at the upper range of pricing. Definitely worth a return visit.

A bit out of the way.

Quintero was a long drive from the Scottsdale area. If you don't mind an hour or more drive, go for it. It's a beautiful course but too far away. Too many other good courses closer to Phoenix/Tempe,Scottsdale area. Great layout but be sure to play the correct tees or you'll suffer.

awesome greens

This course is in the middle of nowhere but worth a 45 minute drive. Great practice area. Condition of the course was as good as a private country club. Greens were really fast. Ive never played a public course with greens this fast. Very unique layout, generous fairways but some tight approach shots. Errant shots are penalized heavily-either lost in the desert or in a bunker.
I would love to play this course again and again. I rarely give a course 5 stars but this is deserving!

A Must Play Golf Course

Quintero is one of the top two courses I have played in AZ thus far. The course is extremely challenging, but the views, course layout, and conditions are incredible. It is so serene and beautiful, you feel as though you have escaped to paradise. Every hole presents a new experience, and you will give your camera a workout. Just bring extra balls, LOL. The practice facility is practically in the next county, but the ride up there and to the first tee is really nice, and the facilities are fabulous. The staff is also very friendly and accommodating. This is A must play course.

Scenic beauty

I had heard so much about Quintero that I was afraid it wouldn't live up to the hype, but it was everything and more. Friendly staff, great condition, pace of play was good, and loved the beautiful views. Generous landing areas yet a good challenge. Greens were fast & rolled true, although they did have a lot of ball marks.

A Masterpiece!

Quintero is the most difficult course layout have have played in Arizona. Manage the course with an eye to score well and not try to make the perfect shot. You will need a few golf balls to finish the 18, if you play smart. Enjoy the picturesque layout,

Don't schedule a PM tee time!

Quintero is a fabulous golf course with fantastic conditions, lightning fast greens, and fabulous views. That being said, my rating is low because of the ourse policy to offer replay rounds to AM tee times. I got a decent rate on GolfNow at 1 PM. On the 3rd tee there was a 3 group wait. The entire round we waited at least 1 group on every tee box. The marshal told us that there were a high number of replay groups that filled up the course. We got in 16 holes only. Too bad, since the course is well worth the drive!

Don't play in the PM!

3rd time playing this course and it was in great shape! Unfortunately, there is a trend to offer replay rounds to morning players and they don't seem to care about the afternoon scheduled tee times. Teed off at 1 PM and had to play the last 2 holes in the dark as there was at least 1 group waiting on each tee from the 3rd hole on. Wonderful course that I couldn't afford if it wasn't a GolfNow hot deal, but try to schedule a time in the AM as the afternoon times will be slow! Great views and great conditions otherwise...

Excellent isolated course

Well manicured and maintained. the ride from the Club house to the practise facilities and tee #1 is waaaaaay too long and cold early in the morning. But worth it.

In late November

Played the Silver tees but that left a bunch of 170 shots for the second shots. The bunkering is among the best I have played (as to placement and design).
Very good par threes. Since a frost delay of 45 minutes and the late-in-the-season date of play, the greens were 14 on the stemp. Wicked if above the pins.

Had a blast, will be back!

I've been playing for just a few months now, and honestly this is the finest course I've played in the Phoenix metro. It's simply a feast for the eyes, with jaw-dropping view after jaw-dropping view. Picked up a Thanksgiving week hot deal since my brother was in town, and he was blown away as well by the beauty of the place. He's been playing the sport for years, and he told me it was his favorite course he's ever played, which I was glad about because I really wanted him to have a fun experience. He did. The place was stellar.

The course was definitely challenging, especially the Par 3s. The greens were like lightning, which puts a real premium on quality approaches, chips, sand shots and any putt more than five feet. If that's the worst part of your game, you're going to struggle. There are PLENTY of bunkers here, so if you can avoid those, you'll likely have a great day...and you should file for a PGA Tour card immediately.

All in all, a really amazing course that would really impress your buds if that's what you're looking for. The starter guys was super descriptive about what to expect, the practice facilities were amazing, and the drink cart girl we saw was a total honey.

Live about 45 mins away, but will definitely be back soon!!!

The course was in great shape.

The course was in great shape but their were too many
ball marks on the greens. They do have machines that
fix that and people playing it need to fix their own ball
marks.

Quintero Golf Club

This course is a must play but you better bring your A game. The staff were very friendly and make you feel like a guest, not just another public player. We were more than a bit underwhelmed with the tents set up but I assume they will be building more permanent structures when they raise the capital. After the 10 minute ride up the hill to the range, practice green and first tee you could tell that the views would be spectacular throughout your round. There are several tee boxes to choose from to make the course fit your game but as I already stated, bring your A game. The fairways are ample but don't miss or you will lose several balls. The washes along each hole are deep and no place to try to retrieve an errant shot. If you don't like sand, don't come here as there is far too many bunkers. The greens were lightening fast and rolled true. The pace of play was about 4:15 which was just about right. Even though we were enjoying our round and the pace of play was good the group behind us kept trying to push us because they must have wanted to play a 3 hour round of golf on a Sunday morning. We kept pace with the group in front of us and there was not a place for the group behind us to advance to so back off and let people enjoy their round. But despite those people the day was pretty enjoyable. The cost of golf was a bit high for late summer but I guess they only want golfers and not hackers to come. We will not even attempt to play in the winter due to the price. This place should be on your must play at least once list though.
