About Quintero Golf Club

Quintero Golf Club, located about an hour northwest of Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, is one of the most scenic golf courses in the Valley of the Sun. While generally a daily-fee course, it does have a small handful of casita rentals for stay-and-play packages. These casitas, located within the community's Entrada properties, feature two large bedrooms with full bathrooms each, and a private patio with the option for outdoor dining. The executive Loft has a large living area with pool table. Guests have access to the Quintero pool, jacuzzi and grilling area. Located in the Hieroglyphic Mountains, Quintero Golf Club was designed by Rees Jones and is a popular pick for the best golf course in the valley. Within 15 minutes is the Lake Pleasant Marina and Scorpion Bay Marina.

The course was in great shape.

The course was in great shape but their were too many
ball marks on the greens. They do have machines that
fix that and people playing it need to fix their own ball
marks.

Quintero Golf Club

This course is a must play but you better bring your A game. The staff were very friendly and make you feel like a guest, not just another public player. We were more than a bit underwhelmed with the tents set up but I assume they will be building more permanent structures when they raise the capital. After the 10 minute ride up the hill to the range, practice green and first tee you could tell that the views would be spectacular throughout your round. There are several tee boxes to choose from to make the course fit your game but as I already stated, bring your A game. The fairways are ample but don't miss or you will lose several balls. The washes along each hole are deep and no place to try to retrieve an errant shot. If you don't like sand, don't come here as there is far too many bunkers. The greens were lightening fast and rolled true. The pace of play was about 4:15 which was just about right. Even though we were enjoying our round and the pace of play was good the group behind us kept trying to push us because they must have wanted to play a 3 hour round of golf on a Sunday morning. We kept pace with the group in front of us and there was not a place for the group behind us to advance to so back off and let people enjoy their round. But despite those people the day was pretty enjoyable. The cost of golf was a bit high for late summer but I guess they only want golfers and not hackers to come. We will not even attempt to play in the winter due to the price. This place should be on your must play at least once list though.

Accuracy is at a Premium

I have Golfed every great course in the PHX area. We-Ko-Pa, Troon North, Southern Dunes, Superstition Mtn, Dinosaur Mtn, The List goes on and on.Quintero is at the Top of Quality and Wow factor for this elite list. Visually it is awesome. Quintero seems to favor a Draw for "most" T-Shots They have spared no expense on Design or Maintenance. Every hole is unique, Every Drive, Lay up and approach requires the utmost in accuracy. The Par 3's are beasts and picking the right club is half the battle. 73.1/143 from 6875 yards is a tough mudder fugger. If Sunday Pins are out play to the middle of the greens or you will end up with a Basketball game score. .The greens are pure and fast, start it on the right line with good speed and it will go right where it should. This is an amazing place to golf but don't come here if you shoot 89 at your local Muni. This is not a "Spray and Pray" golf course. Birdies here feel like eagles. Its just that tough.Just an impressive track. The only recommendation for improvement would be the the wait staff was seemed spaced out. (and I use the word "Wait" on purpose) A hotdog to go should be a 3 to 5 min thing. A lot of the time golfers want to get going quick. Fast attentive service for food would go a long way here.

fixed your ball marks

Golf course in beautiful condition. Greens could use some help from "golfer's" need to fix their ball marks on the greens. Friendly outside service(including ground maintenance crews ). Thanks for awesome experience.

Bring lots of balls

Course was beautiful and in great condition.
You will get severely penalized for any errant shots.
Greens are usually fast and tough to read.
Many hidden bunkers and hazards.

Lots of pompous clowns

Great course, nice greens. Course full of "that guy". The cigar smoking 36 handicap that thinks he is a 3 handicap. Playing wrong tees and slowing pace of play. Full of donkeys

great course, even better greens

One of the best courses I have ever played it was in great shape with very fast and true greens. They were re-doing the bunkers and putting in softer sand which i thought was much better than the old sand. Overall a Great Course!

Best greens in west valley

This is not only a beautiful course, but the layout challenge and overall experience is worth the drive and playing. I love the elevation change as well as the greens being some of the best I have played on. The course was in fantastic shape and that says a lot for July golf in Arizona. Looking forward to playing here again.

One of Arizona's best public courses

This course is the equal of all the better known Phoenix/Scottsdale courses with even more terrain and no homes or developments infringing on the course. While a bit of a drive from Scottsdale it is well worth the trip! The conditions, setting and course design are top notch. This may be my favorite area course and I have played nearly all the top rated layouts.

Scenic and fast greens

Was paired with three very nice people and was an enjoyable round less the slow play. Greens was fast, make sure you know if you putting toward or away from the mountain. We saw a bobcat.

Bunkers were on the repair

Green condition was great. Fairway was good but some bunkers were on the repair. Regarding about the this, no mentioned in golfnow.com. So, ball in the repairing bunker should be dropped out with one stroke penalty.

Beautiful setting

Course was great, beautiful, very challenging but fair, and in great shape. Automatic GPS on carts worked well with no programming required. Needs a club house to match the course.
