About Quintero Golf Club

Quintero Golf Club, located about an hour northwest of Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, is one of the most scenic golf courses in the Valley of the Sun. While generally a daily-fee course, it does have a small handful of casita rentals for stay-and-play packages. These casitas, located within the community's Entrada properties, feature two large bedrooms with full bathrooms each, and a private patio with the option for outdoor dining. The executive Loft has a large living area with pool table. Guests have access to the Quintero pool, jacuzzi and grilling area. Located in the Hieroglyphic Mountains, Quintero Golf Club was designed by Rees Jones and is a popular pick for the best golf course in the valley. Within 15 minutes is the Lake Pleasant Marina and Scorpion Bay Marina.

Best greens in west valley

This is not only a beautiful course, but the layout challenge and overall experience is worth the drive and playing. I love the elevation change as well as the greens being some of the best I have played on. The course was in fantastic shape and that says a lot for July golf in Arizona. Looking forward to playing here again.

One of Arizona's best public courses

This course is the equal of all the better known Phoenix/Scottsdale courses with even more terrain and no homes or developments infringing on the course. While a bit of a drive from Scottsdale it is well worth the trip! The conditions, setting and course design are top notch. This may be my favorite area course and I have played nearly all the top rated layouts.

Scenic and fast greens

Was paired with three very nice people and was an enjoyable round less the slow play. Greens was fast, make sure you know if you putting toward or away from the mountain. We saw a bobcat.

Bunkers were on the repair

Green condition was great. Fairway was good but some bunkers were on the repair. Regarding about the this, no mentioned in golfnow.com. So, ball in the repairing bunker should be dropped out with one stroke penalty.

Beautiful setting

Course was great, beautiful, very challenging but fair, and in great shape. Automatic GPS on carts worked well with no programming required. Needs a club house to match the course.

I dont understand all of the hype?

I played this course when I finally saw a reasonable deal on golfnow. I don't understand the hype for this course. Unfortunately, I thought the course was just average. I did like the elevated tees and wide fairways but none of the holes were really that memorable. With that, I think that's what everyone gets caught up in. All in all, I did have a great time because I was playing golf but I thought the course was ok and I was let down a bit based on all the hype this place gets. Nothing like hearing gunshots in the nearby desert while on the back nine. I did like the complimentary brownie they give you mid round!

Thank you so much for taking the time to review our golf course. We truly appreciate the compliments on the elevation of the course, as well as the brownies, and we certainly thank you for the "excellent" rating on Staff Friendliness...we will share that with our team!

We're sorry that you didn’t have the experience to match what you've heard about the course. We strive to deliver the type of round that will stick in your mind as one of your best, and we missed our mark during your recent visit. Please reach out to our General Manager, Mike Poe directly at (928)501-1500, as I would like to learn more about where we can improve in the future.

PLAY! THIS! COURSE!

By far one of the best courses I have played in my life.
Greens were so fast but also so true, an absolute challenge. Expect a lot of elevation changes.

A must play, would definitively play here again. Worth the drive (an hour) from Scottsdale.

Desert Golf at its BEST!

I have played every premier upscale course in Arizona, including all the $200-$300 tracks in Scottsdale. Quintero is simply the best! Regardless of season they have the best greens (smooth and very fast). A premium is put on your short game skills and tee shots if you want to score well. Well worth the drive, you will NOT be disappointed. Best set a par 3's you will ever play, lots of elevation changes. Needs a better clubhouse and golf shop, but how important is that really? If you like to practice, the practice facility is stellar. A must play!!!

Beautiful course

Third time to Quintero. Even in the heat of the summer the greens were perfect. A great risk reward course with 4 of the most beautiful par 3s you can find in golf.

This course is the pinnacle of desert golf. Amazing views, well maintained from tee to green, great practice facility. If you have trouble hitting straight off the tee bring plenty of extra balls.

Summer maintenance problems

Course maintenance has significant impact on course conditions. Fairways are in horrible condition. Greens not much better. This is not time of year to play Quintero. Although in much better shape during winter, I would not recommend this course during summer maintenance period.

Thank you for bringing this situation to our attention. First and foremost we would like to apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused you and your playing partners. Quintero prides itself in not only great conditions but a great experience. We are discouraged to hear of your negative experience. Above all else, providing an excellent experience is our main goal and it is unfortunate that yours was not up to standard.

As you may or may not know many of the premier courses in the Valley accelerate the transition from Rye grass to Bermuda grass by spraying the course with a chemical that can produce a browning condition on the rye grass. This application is key to assuring the growth of the Bermuda grass and the ultimate condition for the fall overseed.

Given the opportunity, We would like to learn more about your experience and be able to make things right. Please contact us at your convenience.

Sincerely,
Elliot Lewis

Amazing course contours.

I'll be back when the grass is green. While the fours has amazing contours, incredible views, and well kept greens, the brown fairways were the only downside. I know the turf has to change but this seemed more severe than that. Wish I could come back later this summer to give it a second chance.

Staff were great! Class all around, from the moment I arrived, a bit late due to GPS fail.

Pass for a while

Fairways are horrendous. The greens were crusty and hard to read. I would not play this again until the bent grass fairways grow in.
