About Rancho de los Caballeros
Located in the historic western town of Wickenburg, Rancho de los Caballeros is a luxury dude ranch set on 20,000 Sonoran Desert acres that is open seasonally from October thru May. It offers stay-and-play golf packages with the next door Los Caballeros Golf Club, a past recipient of the Golf Advisor Golfer's Choice U.S. Top 50. Rancho de los Caballeros offers authentic ranch activities from hikes with a naturalist to skeet and trap shooting. Jeeps, ATVs, horseback riding and more are all available on the expansive property. The property has 67 guest rooms and 12 suites and offers meeting space and team-building programs. The Kids Club has western activities in the morning and at night and babysitting is also available. Wickenburg is located about an hour northwest of Phoenix-Scottsdale and is home to a small collection of excellent golf courses, including Los Caballeros and Wickenburg Ranch.Facts

Unfortunate
Worst condition I have ever seen on this course Looks like not enough seed was put down at the right time Even the greens looked terrible they were smooth and would hold approach shots

Needs water
Course was very hard and fast coupled with some crazy pin positions it was a difficult track today. Water the greenst. I halve played it 4 times and this was the worst conditions so far.

Repeat player
Front 9 fairways were not it the best condition. Back 9 was much better. Lots of thin areas. Greens were very wet, but rolled fine. Left foot prints as you walked across the greens. Fun golf course with scenic views. Played in just under 4 hours. Was not a beverage cart out on this visit.

Has potential
Not sure how this course cracked golf advisors top 50 public courses. It rated ahead of Quintero which is simply ridiculous. The layout is fun with ample challenge from the back tees. They need to reroute their water usage from the greens to their fairways! Greens are large and rolled fine with the exception of many that were water logged with footprints effecting putts. I know the elevation is over 2000 ft but I had drives over 340 yds thanks to the parched fairways. Definitely not my norm. I guess it’s careful what you ask for as if they watered the fairways, fixed the soggy greens, paved the cart paths this course would easily command top level green fees. It’s definitely worth playing and was solid value. Just didn’t meet expectations after seeing the ranking... that said nothing wring with a little road trip to swing em

Another Nash Challenge
Nice course set in the desert / mountains. Good layout, the back is more difficult than the front. Elevated greens; slick greens and Nash humps keeps putting a challenge

Wont make the trek again
We drove over from Vistancia due to a good $50 deal. However the condition of the course was in need of improvement. The greens were pretty sad and soggy, the fairways had to many patches of dry areas for this time of year.. We felt the drive wasn’t worth the time due to the quality of the course or lack there of. And a $10 hot dog was a bit pricey for my taste.

Enjoyable Round
The course was in great shape and we enjoyed a fast paced round. The course played very fair although the bunkers surrounding the greens were a bit challenging. I would recommend this course to friends.

Great Greens
Greens were fast and ran true, excellent combination. Fairways were in very good shape and I love this layout. We played the gold tees and were paired with a wonderful couple.

Great course! Amazing value.
Great course! Every hole is unique. Amazing views. Super friendly staff. The greens held shots and putted fast and rolled great. The best value in the area by far. Well worth the drive from Phoenix.

Great day
The perfect day on the course. I was fortunate enough to get paired with a member who provided helpful hints to playing the course. The fairways were tight, but forgiving in some cases. The greens were fast, but soft so you could go for the pin. I will play it again.

Cold and windy did not prevent a good time and great round
I arrived a little tardy but was escorted to the tee box with a nod to take a little time to putt on the practice green first. Everyone was smiles and happy to assist, not often seen when late for the tee time. I was paired up with a guy my skill and another young fellow who played from the tips and was skilled enough to do so, also a rarity. So, my partners are great and the course is beautiful. A few incredible houses nearby, but you really have to suck to hit them. The cold wind took some of the shine off the day but still had a wonderful day trying to compete with a very difficult course, what a challenge. I did ok but the course won more often than I did, still, I left feeling great and wanting to return soon and take it on once more.
