Great for Members, Average for Visitors

Fun enough layout but nothing too special other than the surrounding butte views. The price tag for a non member $170 warrants MUCH better in terms of maintenance. Houses next to most of the holes.

Try for a hot deal if you can get it.

I'm glad I can check it and Sedona off my list but no immediate desire to return. Oak Creek down the road was the better deal and closer to the surrounding buttes and mountains.

My take home message is that Sedona is a great destination but not really a golf destination. (I only played the 2 highest Golf Pass rated courses).

Great golf, Greater Views

Conditions have always been great, the views are the best anywhere. The course plays long so don’t be disappointed with a boggie on the par 5s or a fee of the par 4s.

The Backdrop is Spectacular

Enjoy this course for the challenge and the great red rock views. Several par 4s and a par 5 play long; you will need an exceptional approach shot to reach the green in regulation. The shorter par 4s and the par 3s are where you need to make good scores. That said, it’s still fun trying to hit that long shot into a narrow slot. Conditions are excellent.

Favorite course in Sedona, but becoming spendy

This course is in a beautiful red rock area and has wonderful views. The greens are fast, but fair and in excellent condition. The fairways are on good condition, but overwatered and soggy in some areas. The staff is friendly, especially the starter, who gave us much valuable course information.

We understand that keeping a course and facilities in good condition is expensive, but the biggest downside to playing this course is the $150 per person greens fee, which is considerably higher than many courses within an hours drive.

These issues aside, this course is still our favorite in the Sedona area, we just hope we don't get priced out.

Course with spectacular views

We had a wonderfully day there. The staff was very friendly and the course over all in good shape. What we really missed after the round was a looker room. No shower!

But any way, I would play there again.

Don’t miss it

Hard to beat it for the price. We paid 95 on GolfNow and it was during late September, which I think is still prime time. The staff was very helpful and familiarizing us with the course. I love the elevation, changes on many of the holes, especially the back nine. Not too hard but still challenging. There were a few spots on the course that looked like they needed some work, but nothing that caused a problem while playing. Greens were great as well as the fairways. I would definitely play this course again.

Course has lost it's prestige

SGR used to be a high quality, top tier course. But the course was in fair shape. the bunkers had weeds growing out of them when they used to be white powder sand. There were players in Levis and tee shirts. There were babies running around in diapers and mothers changing their babies diapers on the sitting benches outside of the pro shop. It was like being at a 1 star municipal course. It was too much money for the value. Will never play there again!
