Eighteen green Photo submitted by Rosey461 on 06/16/2014
Nice course but not worth the $.
Not sure how they can charge 150$ plus for this course. In good shape, but nothing special. My suggestion is to go play the Whirlwind courses instead. About the same price or less...and WAY Better.
great
The course is well maintained the stall all very friendly
The North course (O'odham) are the widest fairways I've ever seen, big greens. Not a very aethetic course by itself, but the moutains surrounding it are nice. Go for the South Course (Piipaash) instead, it's a funner course, prettier, and a bit more challenging, though not hard. Both courses are in good shape. Good tee boxes, fairways, and greens.
Beautiful Coore and Crenshaw Design!
Very friendly staff and people invite you into the western-themed clubhouse that was well-stocked and priced decently. The range and putting green is big with everything you need right there. Staff was coordinating tee times all the while and our round started precisely on time. The course was wide open off the manicured tee boxes and the fairways were in phenomenal shape. The greens had a few ball marks, but overall were very nice and rolling firm. The staff was available after our round and remained friendly and welcomed us back.
Confidence Builder
North Course is what this is called now.
The course was in great condition from tee boxes, fairway, greens, sand traps and even to the rough. Looked great and played very well. Maintenance team doing great work.
The north course is a course to build confidence on or great for beginners. It’s like playing on an airport runway. Huge fairways and all flat. The geeens too are flat and large with very large relief areas around most of them which means you don’t get punished for missing the green. . There are a few holes where the green is prohibitively placed next to an out of bounds area. I’m thinking holes two, three and twelve where the fence which is barbed wire sits no further than a drivers length away from the fringe. This made it had for those who draw to stay close to the pin if not out of potential penalty trouble. However fifteen other holes are approachable if not welcoming into the greens. It was a fun track because I played well. I played well because it’s an easy track to be aggressive on or to just play your game. So go out there and land some on the tarmac!
10 handicap. Shot 77 despite three putting for bogey on the last three holes as I got aggressive putting trying to post my lowest score ever. Note to self, “stay within yourself”
Wonderful day at Talking Stick
Everything was excellent. Plenty of room to practice, people are really nice and the course in an excellent condition. One thing that I was surprised there are no GPS on the cart.
Very average
Compared to other courses not worth what they charged.
An afternoon at Talking Sticks
My wife and I enjoyed a excellent afternoon when paired with a Dad and his daughter. The generous fairways allows newer golfers to gain confidence. We look forward to our next round at this facility.
This is a forgiving course that still challenges above average golfers.
customer service and wind shields
the service (outside) seems to have taken a turn for the worst. before, they were there to help unload and reload your clubs from and to your vehicle. Not so yesterday. Also, for the price to play this course I expect the GPS and above all wind shields on the carts. If Talking Stick want to charge rate at a top tier course, they need to step up.
Nice place
We could never afford to play at their regular rates but with GolfNow freebies we finally got to play here. The course is in great shape and is fun to play. We got off a few mins early and played in under 4 hrs! Unheard of this time of yr. in Phoenix. All in all a good experience. Hope I get a chance to play here again.
Extremely slow
The course was well laid out however the pace of play was the worst I have experienced.
They need to add more rakes to the bunkers as there was only 1 rake per bunker on average.
The refreshment person was unfriendly and we on saw them once during our round.
With the amount of courses in the area, management needs to pick it up
Pace was slow!
Played nine holes and it took over 2 1/2 hours to play. No marshalls to move things along. The course is in average shape.
Nice well maintained resort style course
Had a free golfnow round so value was excellent. Probably would not return at the going rate of mid $100's for a couple of reasons outlined below. Well maintained fairways, tees, and greens. Excellent sand in the numerous bunkers. No water on this "north" course.
On the negative side, greens were very flat and typical resort style. Also, all the holes basically were the same layout so none really stood out. The need to do some rodent control as the place is literally crawling with gophers.
