Slow play and boring course
Terrible pace of play…. Not a single memorable hole. We even got a military discount and would really like my money back.
4 3/4 hours….just crazy. They would like to be a high end golf facility but it would take an act of hood for that to happen!
Rude employees. Not going back even if it was compt!
Some great views and difficult holes
This course was really BEAUTIFUL. The staff was great, the course was in great shape, the weather was nice and hot, but the pace of play was terrible. Our tee time was 2:21PM and we could not play the last two holes because of darkness. Two groups ahead of us were very very slow and held everyone up. There is no need for that, if they can't keep up the pace, move them along, why make everyone else miserable.
Rude Staff and Boring Flat Course
We teed off 4 minutes early behind a twosome and by the 5th hole we were being told by a marshall to speed up. He showed back up on the 8th hole and yet again told us to speed up even though we were under two hours on the 8th hole. He wanted to argue about pace of play when the group behind us wasn't even teeing off yet. At the turn we grabbed hot dogs and drinks and the group behind us caught us on the 10th hole. We offered to let them play thru and they happily declined. On the 11th hole the same Marshall was waiting for us yet again and said he needs to have a conference with our group. 1 minute later a manager showed up with him to tell us pace of play on the front 9 was under 2 hours. According to him we should be an entire hole ahead and need to keep with the pace of the group in front of us. It didn't matter how many people are in front of us, we need to stay with that group. Even if we have 4 and they have 1 player. He finally admitted that pace of play was over 4 hours and we were 10 minutes behind. We finished our round in 4hr17mins. We never did speed up and were only 7 minutes off pace. We have over 50 years of golfing experience between the 3 of us in our group playing courses all over the world and have never been harassed by staff like we were on Monday. One of us was playing the best back 9s of his life and he had to tee off while the manager was arguing with us about pace of play. He wanted to argue on the green target than moving up to the next tee box or letting us go so we could actually speed up. Extreme lack of professionalism and we will not be back. Space out your tee times not then 10 minutes or group up twosomes.
Worth the drive from Scottsdale
In the midst of overseeding season, I expanded my search to find a tee time at a reasonable rate. Talking Stick (N) was in very good condition. The course has enough content to challenge lower handicappers yet forgiving enough to be playable for less experienced golfers. I will return when back in the area in the future.
Nice Course
Nice hot 105 degree day going into fall so conditions were good considering the time of year. Cart girl was prompt and courteous and they also had water in the jugs. (not all courses have this for some reason) Staff was friendly and attentive . Course has no water hazards so trouble is in the desert. First couple holes don't go left or you are over a barbed wire fence. Play was fast and did our round under 4 hours. Greens were deceptively slow but rolled mostly true. Would definitely play again (especially with fire deal rate).
Great to Golf
In spite of a desert sand storm the course was great to play in early October. Greens are challenging, scenery good, road runners everywhere! Facility is well kept even as most courses were closed for over seeding.
Desert Play - It’s hot!
If you can handle the Arizona sun and heat for 18 holes with no relief, than you will be fine playing here. We were surprised at the lack of shade throughout the course. We kept looking for a tree to park our cart under as we waited for the group in front of us, but there was very little foliage to be found. There is limited water coolers at the tee boxes, but thankfully we brought our own. The beer-cart came often and the prices were reasonable. There are no ball cleaners at any of the holes, but since you are playing in mostly desert sand there is little cleaning to do. Very wide open fairways with only sand traps and desert for hazards. For these out of towners, we were not experienced enough to play in this type of heat.
Very nice golf course
Convenient location from scottsdale. Greens were true and fairways were in great shape. Longish but not difficult
Great condition
Greens run great. Fairways nice and green still. Hot deal on golf now 29.99. Started at 3ish got done before the sun went down. Pace of play was great! Will come back again!
Very nice course
Its a nice course, I’ll probably play again when I’m back in arizona.
Nice Course
Overall a decent and moderate difficulty course. Extremely hot for this Colorado golfer. I was prepared with plenty of water. The course was setup with multiple water points. Keep it in the fairway. I would recommend playing the course but not a course I burn to play again (no pun intended).
