About Talking Stick Resort & Casino
Just east of Phoenix-Scottsdale, Talking Stick Resort is owned and operated by the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community. It is among Arizona's largest golf and casino resorts with nearly 500 guest rooms in a 15-story hotel tower, six restaurants, entertainment and pools. Located off the Highway 101 loop, it is conveniently located near Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport and many of the area's best golf courses. In addition to nightlife and live casino action at the resort, a Topgolf was recently added to the property as well. The main outdoor pool is large and has live music and DJs during a summer series and cabanas for rent, while there are two smaller pools. Additional amenities include a spa, fitness center and a complimentary shuttle that can transport guests to area attractions. The golf club is located next door and feature 36 holes designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, the Piipash and O'odham. Both golf courses are void of residential development and feature forgiving fairways and greens on native terrain.Facts

One of the nicer courses
Had a very good experience playing this course, Conditions were good and the staff was very friendly as they checked in on our group throughout the day,
Forced to listen to ads continuously, and bunkers are atrocious. Otherwise good.
This applies to both courses at Talking Stick.
I struggle with an overall rating, but for me, i wouldnt choose to play here again. Lots of great features, used to a favorite venue of mine. However, these two issues were in my mind disqualifying.
GPS ad sound cannot be turned off. It can be turned down, but you are left with a perpetual buzzing and when things are quiet, meaningless jabber. Apparently the GPS provider wont let the course turn it off. Annoying, and show lack of concern for customers. We are golfers, not just targeted consumers to be monetized.
The bunkers. The dirt is hard packed, try hitting out of a deep greenside bunker to small fast greens. The greens complexes are this course’s primary defense, and now it is terribly flawed.
Sad to see these issues ruining the experience at otherwise stellar place. This is why i write this - in spirit of communication to management from an otherwise fan.
Great track
Great course very playable, greens rolling pretty good. Overall great day on a super course. Would definitely play again on our next rip.
Wish we could have been visited by the drink cart
Day was pretty warm and needed hydration besides water
Not a good experience
It was your typical resort golf course! Was there at 6:50 for a 730 tee time, The bag staff cart guy was very rude and unprofessional. The driving range was not set up until 720.! To cap it off, my threesome was sent out behind a foursome of employees who did not let us play through and it took us five hours to get around this golf course I called the pro shop and never saw a Ranger or cart girl the entire day
Nice course, would recommend
A bit pricey, but overall nice. Need both range finders and cart GPS as on course markings are limited. Very playable overall.
So good I had to play it twice!!!
Immaculate tee boxes, fairways and greens!!! I almost didn’t play this course due to other, not so good reviews. If you’re in Phoenix, AZ visiting or living your best life then this course is a must play. Did not disappoint! Hit it off with the guys I was paired with so well that we played the South and then the North course together. Time of my life!!! Great staff too. Played from the tips, good challenge, the course won, lol. Will play again!!
Great course but unfortunate circumstances.
I took my son to this course for his birthday. He had just drove in from CA on his way to Texas. The course was in beautiful condition, the day was perfect and the staff was amazing. However, there are members there who definitely feel entitled to set the pace of play. On the 9th whole I decided for the first time in my day to try to re-putt a downhill putt to which was met with heckling from the 3 members. They were telling us we were a hole behind and needed to speed it up. I told them I payed for the course not to be rushed by them. However, I added some expletives to assist with letting them know how much they upset's me.Not only did that result in an altercation with one of the members but I managed to upset my son understandable so. The manager came out and informed me that we were perfectly fine with speed of play. I told them this one person who I had the biggest issue with had also told me to go back to where I came from. Which is so arrogant that honestly it was then I wanted to do something I'm glad I didn't do. Would I play the course again absolutely. It was in the end unfortunate and looking back should have just smiled and got a whole lot slower. But I didn't.
