South course

Great spot for golf. Definitely competes with legend trails and majority of the resort courses and troon. Great amenities around the practice area to clean your clubs. Played as a single at noon for $36.99 and didn’t see a soul all day. Steal of a price. Views were amazing, boulders were obviously very cool to look at. Sneaky tough track, greens were hard to read but true. I played a day after rain so they were a tad softer and spun. Overall great experience for $36 for a course that usually charges $300 in the winter and $55 in the summer. Saw cart girl a few, no water in coolers and gps on carts. They give you towels which is always useful in the 110 degree heat

Boulders Review

Had a wonderful time playing the South Course. Thanks to Gregory Briggs,(course superintendent,)the course was in great shape for this time of year. He’s done amazing things at The Boulders. We had the entire course to ourselves and were able to take in the beautiful sights and not hold up play. Greens were quick but true and the course made you think your way through. Looking forward to playing the North Course.

Great course conditions. Greens firm. Snacks and Drinks Outrageously Priced.

The course is nice and green. The greens were a little on the slow side but not shaggy at all. They were also firm and wouldn’t hold a ball. I typically hold the ball around where it hits or back it up just a little. These greens rolled out. If I hit the middle of the green it was on the back or off. But course conditions were very nice for July. The cart lady charged us $44 for 4 gatorades, 2 small bags of chips, a pack of crackers and a snickers bar. I was shocked when she said $44!

YELLED AT BY THE GREENSKEEPER!?!?

First time playing the Boulders in over 20 years, so I didn't know the course. To begin with the starter told the threesome I was playing with, tips on where to hit it and other stuff. I asked him, what about my tees? He said oh they're over there. The course is in terrible condition for a "top end" course, hardpan fairways everywhere. Then, on the 16th hole, we pulled up on the path, and we're PUTTING!! All of a sudden we heard a greenskeeper scream at us to move our carts that he needed the path to work! UNBELIEVABLE!!! After we finished putting we went back to our carts and were yelled at again that we were supposed to pull over into a small space by the green I told him I never play here, there is no sign and I am not a mind reader!! Big disappointment in the course and to be yelled at by a greenskeeper for parking on the path?? A JOKE!!! I will NEVER come back!!!!

Nice course and staff

Nice course layout. Course was in very good condition. Greens were a bit firm but rolled well.

Fairways and bunkers were in great shape, especially for this time of year.

Pace was great - never waited in any hole

Price gauge

Very nice course. Great layout well maintained but probably will never go back. Not sure what gives a golf course the right to charge $14 for a 16oz beer. That’s like going to a MLB game and they are 25oz. Didn’t even bother to stay there to have lunch afterwards as I feel like not worth my time. I don’t write reviews but this bothered me. Most courses are $5-$6 bucks for a beer ok fine but give me a break $14

Good Challenging, Well Groomed & Panoramic Course

Boulder was a great course. Very well groomed and so picturesque with boulders and mountain background. It is a very challenging course with deep bunkers and long carries of the white tees. some areas carries are over 220 yards. Greens were fast, true and consistent.

first time playing at Boulder but would rank as one of my favorites to play in Phoenix area to date.

Only drawback is the GPS system is weak and provides very little information. or else I'd give a 5 star rating. Using a more modern GPS would greatly help new and current golfers. This would be a game changer and needs an upgrade

$16 a beer, $8 waters and a 4:45 round in 108 degrees

The beverage cart pricing is choose your own adventure, the pace of play was like seeing a bunch of snails compete in the Olympics. The course was overall in good shape but def would have paid a little more for green fees not to get held up on every hole during the Arizona summers.

Nice, picturesque course to play

This course was beautiful, but the fairways were mowed too close to the dirt in many areas compared to the fairways at the Wildfire Golf Club- Palmer Course we played the day before $56.00 that had excellent fairways not mowed to the dirt. We did many pictures of many holes that had huge boulders which was more picturesque than Wildfire's Palmer course. Many holes required placement shots and were playing longer than I liked for White tees, so I had to move up to closer tees on the par 4's to reach the greens in regulations. The greens were hard to read appearing to have a sloop, but were straight and vs versa.

Good! But could be great!

Love the South Course

Course conditions were ideal

Pace started slow but picked up quickly and was 3.5hr round.

My 4 big takeaways

A. No waters in cooler prior to round

B. Only saw cart girl twice and never shared how much final tab was going to be

C. Great Summer Price, Winter course is unaffordable

D. Tipped the guys and end of round, They put my bag up at Club dropoff and NEVER saw them again!

Highly recommend Course

But again rates in Winter are ridiculous

Decent but overpriced

Overpriced for the end of June in Arizona. Was 105 degrees out and still paid $115. Course was not in as good of shape as I would have hoped. Greens were very sandy. We played Troon North the weekend before playing here and paid $85 and it was in MUCH better condition. GPS on the carts is a bit janky for this course being at a Hilton.
